It was mean't to be a joke by bptiger and it was a joke.....as some Wests side of the Merger are stressing hard over there share of the merge cause of these Harry Triguboff talks .

We have gone through how many pages of just pure speculation ? Everyone Chill Wests will remain in the JV, it's more likely Balmain won't and Wests don't need to sell there share , let's liven up as it's all talk at this moment in time .

Mate, i've seen you jump down people throats for bashing Balmain in the past. You can't be critical of one side, then brush it off when its the other way around.

Sorry, not trying to further derail the thread, but i needed to point it out.

I used to jump down people's throat when the Wests side used to mention that Balmain are not Financial :blah :blah :blah and for that reason Campelltown should get more games than Leichardt.
I have always mentioned that both these grounds will always hold a wedge in between the JV .

This JV has never worked and will never work i'm afraid , People that know me ? know what i feel for Wests Tigers and i look back at the Balmain Days with fond memories and that is all it is Memories.
I do feel that the old Magpies supporters hold more resentment than the Balmain side and continues into the JV .
At Campbelltown Today there was a section of just Magpies supporters standing together behind the post in there Magpies gear waving there Magpies flag when we scored and the younger generation that have learn't to support the Wests Tigers must look at them with confusion and i'm not saying that there isn't any old Balmain supporters that don't do this , hence why i'm saying this JV has never worked and have my doubts it ever will.
I have a Balmain Jersey that i have in the cupboard that i have not worn since we became Wests Tigers not saying that people should follow suit uhuh !!!! it's just that personally i am showing colours that are in the past and would only continue to bring anger within our fans .
People can do what they want but it's the reason will never come together unfortunately .

we could have the tiger standing over the magpie while it is ripping the head of it and have feathers going every where, works for me. lol

obviously you have had too many drinks before posting again…

have not had a drink all weekend, it was posted as a joke, that i shared with foveratiger, some people need to chill out. i have stated on here many times balmain is dead and gone long live wests tigers. it seems thou that only the wests side cant let it go.

Hahahaha absolute cracker re the new emblem of the Tiger ripping the head off the magpie.. I love it.. I've always been of the opinion that the magpie has no place on the jersey, the club is called WESTS Tigers, not Balmain Magpies? Guys if everyone is well and truly on the same page regarding the future of WT, then getting rid of the magpie would be a good start, people have to let go of the past(Balmain/magpies) crap.. it should be one team, one brand.

On the matter of ownership, hypothetically would the Wests group be willing to take over %100 of WT? I honestly don't know anything about this organisation, are they hardcore Wests magpies? True rugby league people? what's their motives in the joint venture? Would they be willing to put more $$ in the club? Realistically the status quo can not last. I would like to see sole ownership of the club with the owner having the best interests in the club.

Least the fanatics are there, paying their money, giving to the club. More than a lot of other supporters who think its too far to travel out to Cambo, like its on Mars or something like that. I don't condone everything the fanatics say and do, i've been booted from their Facebook page for repeatedly telling them to move on, so i'm definitely not on their Christmas card list, but in all the times i've seen them there, they are always well behaved, not looking for trouble. I even seen a couple pics from today where the Tiger mascot had a pic taken with them, and a guy with a WT's banner had a pic taken also. As long as they cheer when we score, and don't ruin anybody else's day, then the Fanatics at a WT's game is a minor issue.

but i don't agree with wearing the old Mapies colours , just like i don't agree with people wearing the Balmain colours , maybe it's me but i feel that's a thing in the past and all it does is continue the animosity between the Joint Venture.
Don't forget your roots but wear our current colours with pride not the colours that is in the past .
Just my opinion ( i don't claim to be correct)

Not confirmed, but they have the capacity:

No.

True rugby league people?

Yes.

Success.

From all reports, yes (they were willing to provide a loan to Balmain to assist)

Let's try working our way back from our goal. I'm presuming that our goal is the long term success of Wests Tigers. To reach that goal as a club we need better player stocks, better facilities, and better management, all of which is made possible by consistent funding. Who is going to provide that funding? From the above, it would appear that there are two ready models. If you really want to see WT succeed does it really matter who or where the money comes from?
Unless maybe you have a separate agenda.

Well said. So many 'true' supporters seem hell bent that either only wests OR harry can turn the club around. Not both. They wont concede that both may be able to. They don't see the positive that two rich entities want to own and run the club. Their bias shines thru their posts.

Alot of people taking about the financial prowess of Wests Ashfield has pricked my interest, and I did abit of a comparison between Ashfield and other Western Sydney Leagues Clubs.

Now Ashfield took in revenue of $41m for 2014 financial year, of which $36m was from poker machine takings.

Comparing this to the other clubs in Western Sydney:

Parramatta $78m revenue, $51m from pokies
Canterbury $105m revenue, $71m from pokies
Penrith $118m revenue, $63m from pokies

It seems that we are small fry compared the the money that other clubs make, and by a long way too. This honestly surprised me as I thought Ashfield was up there with the big boys in terms of finances.

Now this is not knocking Ashfield, because we can all agree that the Wests Tigers only exists nowadays because of them. And they are by no means struggling financially, as they make a lot of money and can hopefully funnel alot more of that into the WT in coming years.

I think it just points out our financial standing compared to others, who seemingly have an open cheque book they can call upon from their leagues clubs. And even though our leagues club backer is successful, it's still a long way off the financial strength of our main competitors in the western Sydney market.

Food for thought anyways.

Not only a much better way, but probably the only way that it will happen.
As long as whoever runs the club, stay away from the actual football side of it , and concentrate on looking after the financial aspect, it should work well for everybody,

Just because a club has bigger revenue than another club doesn't mean they have bigger profits. Wests Campbelltown needs to be considered aswell.

I couldn't bring myself to read the whole thread which seems to have degenerated into a Tigers vs magpies fight (again!). I just follow the Wests Tigers these days but some are finding it difficult to let go of the past.

Anyway, on topic, I have grave reservations about private ownership but as far as I know Wests Tigers isn't for sale and you can't buy something that isn't for sale.

Yeah I just shake my head when I still see a sea of old Balmain 'Phillips' or Wests 'Victa' jerseys at our matches, or even the big flags that are just black & white or just black and gold. I could understand it in the first couple of years - not everyone could just fork out for a new jersey or other gear straight away, but it's been 15 years for God's sake!!! I donned the orange, black and white straight away because that is my team's colours. They aren't solely black and white and they aren't solely black and orange/gold. I really cannot understand the mentality of wearing the 15 year old colours of teams that don't exist in the NRL anymore.

Did you read the entire comment or did you stop at the rippining off the magpie head component? The current model is a failure, I couldn't care if HT or Wests take over WT, as long as they have the best interest in the club and have the money. Obviously you took the comment to heart, hence the personal attack, read the comment again and take your blinkers off, your lack of emotional intelligence is restricting you from concentrating on the core problem, which is the status quo, this is why we have public forums, to discuss topics we are passionate about. Anyway, if you don't appreciate freedom of speech then maybe you should sign up to some far right forum. P.S I understand it is hard for you to comprehend, or interpret the tone of the comment, though please be assured the reference to the magpie was a joke.. I just thought I'd clarify that in order to baby your emotioanal insecurities.
