I think he thinks his job is done and this will be the last we hear from him.

In defence of PVL though, he did speak to both HBG and the Independents. I will have to assume he has far more information about what happened than any fans do.

And therefore what short- or long-term compromise would be feasible.

But it's also not wrong to quash any of the Wests Magpies return talk - that stuff was everywhere including a significant amount of the start of this thread. He's come out and said it will never be permitted, so at least that's one angle of debate / consternation we can officially put to bed.

They have held a majority share in WT for over a decade. They literally do not care if Wests Tigers win games, only that they can watch Wests Magpies at Lidcombe Oval in NSW Cup.

I can only go on the history mate. It was obvious for a long time there were issues in the club so we sought a review.

That review conducted by very qualified people found that there were serious governance issues at the club and made a list of recommendations.

When those recommendations were mostly implemented, the ckub actually started to make measurable improvements across a wide variety of indicators for the first time in over a decade of failure.

The HBG who were found to be an issue in the review, then decided that they would blow that up and return to controlling the club.

Im really sorry but I'm not ok with that. These guys are not owners, they are custodians of our club and they have failed in that role.

I won't stand by and watch them continue to destroy the club.

It is not their club, it is our club.

There's only 1 thing that hasn't changed in the past 10 years for Tigers, in the search for answers and success - the owners. We've tried roster, home grounds, coaches, assistant coaches, logo, juniors, NSW Cup, Board members, CEOs, sponsors... all changed for little to no improvement.

What do you think of the HBG board? Don't you think it's problematic having them run the club in terms of developing on and off field success or you aren't fussed?

If that’s the case they must have pulled the wool over PVL’s eyes and not many if any do that.
BOF and the other 2 independent board members who have been reinstated obviously know what they are dealing with.

Classic damage control, the club could realistically haemorrhage members due to this - huge backlash.

The club itself is desperate to keep and build the memberships and HBG seem too stupid/naive/blinkers to realise how much damage they are doing.

HBG have won 5 seats on the board. But the independents are back. I think all 4 of them will sit and dignify themselves with a year or two. ... on a board they will probably be over-rulled by.

HBG havent though faced US, the fans. We want some damn answers over this mess and Denis Burgess can answer to us.


WE need a good showing so that HBG will actually think twice before doing anything this stupid again.

The proposal makes no sense, solves nothing. Thousands of members leaving the club demanding refunds, lodging formal protests with basic and fair trading, having rallies (this weekend will be the first of many, if necessary)
There's still a long way to go.

Many reports that the board has on the table a 2029 extension and are strongly considering it.

Look don't get me wrong, he deserves-ish 2026, He has till 2027 to prove something.
I am not sold on 2028 and suddenly were talking an extension till 2029!
