We need an equal split which won't happen and the chair has a casting vote again wont happen but we can dream. After all it is in their control as owners despite how shit and divisive they've been. I tend to agree with what someone else said V'ladys may have just given them enough rope to hang themselves.
One thing for sure is he put them on notice and they've shat the bed.

HBG did implement the recommendations.

They also sacked those independent board members & the CEO for reasons that a large majority of people in here dismiss as ridiculous.

The NRL has since gifted HBG control of the board, not insisted Richo be returned & negotiated the return of 3 of the 4 ousted board members.

That's the facts that are mostly widely known.

You keep skipping over my question regarding what HBG had planned to do with the board going forward. At no point I can recall has there been any indication they DIDN'T want to continue with independent board members. Just not the ones they felt were not delivering all important details to HBG.

And, given that PVL & not the independent company that did the review, interviewed the ousted board members & HBG in the last couple of days, it could be deducted that PVL is more over the current state of things than the review company. And PVL's decision?

To go in favour of putting control with HBG.

Who knows more about what went down in the last week? PVL? Or the independent company that gave a review that was followed?

And why, with the shadow of an investigation hanging over him, was Richo not brought back in? Does that give ANY credence to the potential issues HBG were having?

I'm not saying it does. Just that it could.

Its just logic man.

If you have 20 people controlling the club, who are self selecting and not accountable to club owners, are you going to get the brightest and most experienced? A group with diverse opinions? No.

PVL will know this. But he may be restricted from intervening or this may be a temporary structure (hopefully)

That's the point.

A review was initiated because of serious mismanagement.
A recommendation was made to solve that.
HBG implemented
within 9 months HBG destroyed it

It was going well...we didn't need the last one on the list above.

Now, the same fools who have just shown exactly why a recommendation was made to get out of the way, are back in power.

I don't know what exactly you are arguing about.
 
I think that its quite obvious the HBG ownership of the west tigers has failed. For a number of reasons and the more learned members of the forum have outlined them.
My analogy for the Wests tigers story is that think of the wests tigers as the child and the wests magpies as one parent and the Balmain tigers as the other parent.
Their child is now 25 years old and its time for it leave home.
HBG should sell its 90% and Balmain should sell its 10% and lets wests tigers grow independently of them.
Now as for the best buyer of the group I am open to suggestions.
Wests Campbelltown can buy it and change its name to wests tigers league club i would be happy.
Or if they lets members buy shares in then at least we have a say.

Do I want Laundy to buy it, not if he wants to rekindle his Balmain tigers memories.

Must be something in the licence and the money you receive maybe there is a duty of care if the NRL feels you are incapable of running a club they come in to run it

I would have that in a contract the competition as a whole must be looked after

That review conducted by very qualified people found that there were serious governance issues at the club and made a list of recommendations.

When those recommendations were mostly implemented, the ckub actually started to make measurable improvements across a wide variety of indicators for the first time in over a decade of failure.

The HBG who were found to be an issue in the review, then decided that they would blow that up and return to controlling the club.

Im really sorry but I'm not ok with that. These guys are not owners, they are custodians of our club and they have failed in that role.

I won't stand by and watch them continue to destroy the club.

The march alone won't change much.. but if it becomes an ongoing persistent news piece.. that's a completely different story..

As I've suggested on another thread (which I saw someone post on WT insta page before it was deleted)... If everyone in round 2 vs cowboys turned their back on the game in the 5th minute (to represent the 4 sacked directors + Richo), do you think that doesn't make commentary? Or make NRL 360 on Monday? The bye round podcast? Sen league? Triple M NRL...

If everyone then did it in every game following, it'll stay relevant..

The media has been the Wests tigers fans enemy for so long... It's been tough. But we are in a position to weaponise them against the HBG and apply the blow torch.. it may never work.. but it also may just have the desired impact over time...

Who knows if you don't try right?

Seems as good a protest as any other- plus lets people enjoy football on weekends much better than ripping up memberships will.
 
I believe there must be more changes to come. Why would BOF and the other 2 happily sit down and work with folks who sacked them 10 days ago, and be out numbered by them?

Is the NRL actually giving HBG time to find a buyer, and a seat at the table to discuss with the prospective buyers from the Wests Tigers inner circle?

The plan was control. They have that. Independent directors and all.

You think 5 of 9 HBG is an independent board? Spare me please.
