HBG, Independent Directors Sacked

Business, Business, Business ...

Using the most profitable ground enables the club to do the right thing with regard costs to fans. All kids enter free when accompanied by an adult 👍

A whole generation of new, young Wests fans.

Agghh, takes me back to my youth when all kids entered Liddy Oval free - just as long as one of your posse remembered to bring the wire cutters.
I was a Penrith junior and we had free tickets for every season just for playing. Not sure if that happened at Wests but it was great for us - played our game and caught the traing to Penrith Park for the game and then back home afterwards. Does that happen now?

I haven't been involved in junior footy for about 5 years but over time they were making it more difficult.

Went from having a pass you could show and walk into any game to having to go onto ticketek and get your tickets using a code.

It was the same back in the 2000s....all districts

I guess at least it is available and that is a good thing especially as participations rates appear to be falling.

I’m confused?
My belief is the playing group are not effected when a couple of board members who they would not even recognise are no longer part of the board.
Similar with the CEO, as long as they get along well with the replacement CEO they are not going to lose any sleep over the previous one departing.
Our team certainly won’t perform any worse or any better because of it cone round 2.
No- I understood your point. I was trying to understand the response as it didn't actually relate to your point.

The managers are the ones that are watching what happens at board level because they know the difference between a well run organisation and a poor one. The players may not be directly impacted, but an unstable environment has managers looking elsewhere when options present themselves.
Managers will take the money available to the player. For a 'basket case club' the Tigers managed to pull in a number of reasonably high profile players.

C'mon Chad we operate under the same salary cap as every other club, we have a healthy junior base, we have had two ex premiership coaches -one who jumped as soon as he could and the other we sacked - we have a great fan base and we haven't appeared in final series since 2011.
We are poorly run club compared to those we compete against and the results are evidence of that

it may ? be a push from PVL,he bumped the prices for SOO ,and said they will come.
Seems Darcey shot his mouth off b4 he did his homework.
27 $s gets the kids trinkets , other discounts
market forces
And rather than apologise he blamed HBG for being misleading - the idiot couldn't see the irony in what he said - how misleading was he shooting his mouth off with incorrect info.

Yea you no longer get the the pass with your rego fees . Haven’t for a long time .
Any body comparing needs to look at the landscape a why that was. The nrl in the 90s an 2000s couldn’t get people to games , and had a huge bums on seats issue . So they handed out passes with junior membership .
As it has managed to regain its place in the zeitgeist , an probably surpass where it has ever been , there’s huge demand for most games , especially places like Leichhardt , and , not only is free passes not happening anymore , but it’s become financially irresponsible to do it . LO will most probably be in the future sold out games months in advance , with only away tickets which will be expensive , the only tickets available . Much like premier league games in the UK. And really there should be prestige seats external of corporate boxes . If the nrl is serious about globalising this is just how it goes.

Also leads to an overpay of players that are currently here. Love Jahream but is he a $950K fullback? definitely not.

Wests Tigers Chairman slaps down Darcy Byrne who got it SOOO wrong in attempting to blame HBG for his imaginary ticket prices (its all becoming a bit unhealthy, this anti HBG obsession Darcy)

"Inner west mayor Darcy Byrne has expressed disbelief at the decision of HGB to charge children $75 for a single game ..." - Weekly Times

"Id also like to make it clear that the Wests Tigers are responsible for setting ticket prices ..." - O'Farrell

Are you kidding ? The invisible man could not cause this much off field chaos and not be recognised.
Players not effected by independent board members getting turfed then having HBG beg them to return?? They wouldn’t see this sort of behaviour every week, would they?
Not lose any sleep? They would be checking their contracts for sure.
Just as 7 senior players threatened to leave if Benji was the next in line for sacking.
Don’t know if you have an enthusiasm meter, but a quick check of before and after the recent round of chaos would definitely show a difference.

We are a poorly performing club on the field.

Off the field? Boardroom members aside- are we doing much worse than 80% of the clubs?

Be fair when talking about the coaches too- the one who left did so to coach his son. 3 ex-premiership coaches, Cleary, Madge & Sheens.

I don't remember watching the board members missing tackles or kicking out on the full.

Our years without finals series appearances have more to do with coaches hoping Luke Brooks can be Nathan Cleary than whoever sits at the end of the board room table.

Everyone says we turned things around last season because of independent board members.

Couldn't it have just as easily been Benji getting a better mix of players on the field? Why is Benji's success (of sorts) credited to the off-the-field team instead of the guys on the field?

I don’t even know why this topic is being continually discussed, our current CEO and Chairman have recently fronted up to state there are no current concerns and it’s all systems go in regards to the upcoming season which is now only a couple of weeks away.
Are you hoping for another problem ?
