HBG takeover, Independent Directors Sacked

Although I commend the guys for taking the initiative with the Mayor, one or 20 demonstrations at Pratten Park isn't going to provide any lasting change.

Complaining to HBG is futile. The real leverage is the licence...which is ARL/NRL controlled.

Efforts should be directed at the NRL to force a sale to guarantee licence renewal. Simple and clean.

The motivation to sell for HBG is in the fact that if they don't, they carry an asset worth nothing if the licence won't be renewed.

Really it's the only shot to remove these bastards.

I think the NRL would be motivated because HBG are an embarrassment and it also removes the Wests/Balmain drama in one go.

Let hope…

This issue has been around a while …thought the NRL could have put it to bed years ago
Unfortunately some folks just keep throwing down the bedcovers and jumping out of the cot!....
Issue has been perculating for a while apparently.just when we all thought it has moved on...and it needs to be brought to a finale...and this will backfire on the not so smart self serving clowns and will be the catalyst for a major change
PVL is too smart to allow this to happen to the key expansion area for NRL plus an established brand

Someone has probably already mentioned this but you spelt dementia incorrectly.

Sorry if I'm a bit late but I am the best part of a day behind with my reading.

So. I have, until this turn of events, been one of the 'dinosaurs' who has long-dreamed of an 'unmerge' and the return of Balmain as a standalone entity. First game at Leichhardt in '83 blah blah blah. What has happened over the last couple of days, as well as making me furious, has made me finally realise that bringing Balmain back isn't going to happen and shouldn't happen. They were 'my club', but they aren't 'the club' (and nor of course are the Magpies) of the vast majority of people who support the Wests Tigers. For them, the Wests Tigers are their club. Which is great. It's been 25 years (minus one) of hurt for everyone involved in the JV. It's time we all move on, both from the old tribes and certainly from this ridiculous governance model that isn't fit to run an under 8s team. Given how angry this has made me, I finally realise the Wests Tigers are now 'my club'. I'm all in - I live in the UK and get up at half 4 to watch every game so this has always been obvious in hindsight. But the point being, if I can move on I figure anyone can. And if you can't leave the past behind - I get that. It's cool. But it doesn't help anyone really. Let's finally put all this old stuff to bed. If you want to watch Balmain or the Magpies, there is plenty of stuff on Youtube to keep you going. But if you want to be on the train, let's just move forward, sort this out, and become the powerhouse we really ought to be.
So you still think its a shame the Magpies won their court case and got re-admitted back in 1983 then? Are they still hapless small time boobs? Or have they improved in your eyes since Monday?
