How did Jennings go in trial #2?

I can't say Jennings looked any more skillful, but he definitely looked liked like he was trying harder.

I rated jennings effort in the trial however i think to get a player possy you neeed to out shine them. I think jennings did well but i dont think he did enough to replace nofo or thommo.

I agree, but plenty seem to think Thommo will get first crack at fullback.

allow us to overlook errors

To be fair, I think he copped the whack to his head in that tackle which drew some claret. He didn't knock the ball on and in fact placed it behind him al a Rugby Union which I thought was cute! Ref gave it up as a knock on I think cos his feet def not out when placing the ball back. Another generous decision by the OPSM Specialists.

Ok, so how do you standout in the eyes of a coach who is looking for combinations? When the coach says he’s looking for combinations to me that means he’s looking for teamwork which has a huge bearing on the way the game is played. It showed in things like how we stopped getting penalised. It showed in the way BJ paused to pass , when it appeared as though he could have scored himself. I think this is why AD appeared to be quiet. tijmo

Further on that point. The refs have been bias to a majority supporter crowd during the trials. This game started no differently with Warriors kept in the game through unreasonable penalties, finally one of the Tigers spat the dummy and we got marched 10mts. WT showed good discipline to remember why they were there and the penalties started to even up.

He should be braining them.

At souths i thought he was simply falling over the line and copping the credit.

He needs to get involved and be our Fergo

Literally all he did was fall over the line lol

Interestingly Dyloh. I doubt he ran more than 10mts for any of those tries and mostly untouched.

It happens to teams now and again, possibly us more than others.

The sooner team selections reflect that they are aware the better.

The guy is a dud - cc for the season unless there are injuries.

AD to FB, Thommo to wing, Momo to left centre.

Then we can see a left side blitz like the right is doing.

Momo - Garner - Thommo - TRY

You ain't gonna get that with a DUD on the wing.

Fair question mate and if thats the case the left side is All up for grabs i guess. I'll be happy with whoever is choosen as i have no idea how they train or whether certain plays click.

There's one there he puts on a step against feldt, about the try I felt like he still had a lil bit of work to do before falling over the line.

I think Madge has some tough choices to make, but he is likely to treat the players in those contested positions as all part of the "Squad" that will interchange throughout the season. There's always an opportunity for each player at some point, and whether its AD, CT, Jennings, Nofa, Momo, Mbye, Reynolds, Walters, ET, Eisenhuth, Lawrence, Clarke (even maybe Talau) - all the guys that are contending for spots in the 17 every week - each player will get an opportunity to contribute to the team.

IMO the positions that are most up for contention are obviously Fullback, wing, centre, dummy half and the make-up of the bench. Out of those positions the only ones that I would prefer to see happen would be to give Mbye some reasonable time at Centre, Musgrove is a must on the bench, and give the first go to Walters as the 9. As to the rest - the options are too close to call.

The great thing is that we are even considering options, in past seasons average players were played every week even after rubbish performances because we had little choice. Our squad is far better balanced this season than it has been for a long time.

Wasn't able to see the game yet on video and he didn't get mention in news items or here but his did In Jennings go? He looks to have trimmed down and improved fitness but no idea ok if it has helped on field performance. I'd love for him to improve and offer some real competition for wing spots. Has height and size but effort and speed was not really displayed in 2019.

Jennings put in the effort but he just has no leg drive whatsoever! They are the size of tree trunks but he drops to the ground, losing his legs in each tackle - I can’t understand why his massive legs have so little penetration in tackles - Blocker Roach also has no leg drive but he had a lot of upper body strength.

I could say because he is a dud - but I won't.

I'm trying to be a nicer person. Lol

The thought was right, but the ball rolled forward. Fair call.
