Hi People,
Was just curious if any of you have had experience with driving indiscretions in NSW (speeding, mobile phone use etc.). How long after the incident were you notified? Is there anyway to find out quicker to quash the nerves, did the services NSW app show it quicker perhaps?

Cheers

I have only had 1 fine in the last 30 years and it took about 2 weeks (parking fine)

Mate, I was the CEO of Revenue NSW until 2015. We speeded up processing so that fines were issued within a couple of days of being incurred. I don’t know if that’s changed but no reason why it should have. Service NSW could show it earlier than the mail.

Fine should be received in mail in about 2 weeks, definitely shows up quicker in the app.

if you go to service nsw app under fines / demerit points it will show up there within 24 hours usually

Appreciate all the comments guys 🙂

Oh really, Is that from your own personal experience?
Can anyone else vouch for this
personal experience got done on a red light camera on a Friday morning 5am and the fine was in the app by 8am Saturday
if it is not innthe app I'd say you are sweet

Mum told me you can get off a fine if you have no previous records. You can appeal it apparently. My mummy is a very slow and safe driver

Yep. I did that (on the advice of the cop that gave me a ticket). He said had to book me because he had logged me speeding. Then ran my licence through the system and said I hadn’t had a fine in about 20 years . If I went into the website and appealed I should get off..which I did and got off.

I always paid the fines and mum went ape shit at me cause she’s very frugal. Said it’s easy. Appreciate the confirmation tigerwould!

Never had such luck myself.

Once I got fined for doing 110km/h on the northern approach to the Harbour Bridge (was testing a higher gearing on a bike I had).
Cop who pulled me over said, 'Another 10kmh and I'd be carting your butt in.'
Being the nice chap I was my reply was' Do you want me to go back and give it another crack?'
Don't know why he wanted to check for defects after that 🙂

Excellent thread! I am currently wondering the same thing as I got done 11 days ago for speeding, nothing yet in the mail and nothing on Service NSW app.
In my defence it was safe speeding in the country with no other car in sight, except for a stealthy copper it turned out.

by copper you mean a mobile speed unit (one of those SUV's) hiding somewhere? or like a patrolling cop who pulled you over?

Yeah I actually got pulled over by an officer who told me I was booked. I'm holding out a very very slim hope that afterwards he decided I seemed like a good bloke and didn't process it haha.

When i was a young bloke living in country NSW 50 years ago that was always a possibility but i would not be too sure about it these days

Hubby got caught by the speed at Wahroonga ( just before the freeway) towards the end of last year. The fine came in the mail 2 weeks later. He filled in the appeal application online since he had a good driving record and was low level speeding ( 3kph over). Got a reply back very quickly, slap on the wrist, don’t do it again, fine waived.
