How's your health?

What is it with every nurse trying to put a cannula in your right hand wrist?
I don’t know about the rest of you guys but I shake with my right hand and I don’t want a bloody cannula in the way.

And I don’t mean shake hands.
LOL...Yeah I know....I cant sit there for an hour getting infused into my right hand and do forum on my fone with my left...wth!

Funny thing is since i was diagnosed ive heard next to nothing from my work colleagues. Im not sure how to take it , im a little bit annoyed because i really thought they would give a shit but im also understanding that perhaps they arent sure what to say .
If i had advice to people who have a freind in need ... and you arent sure what to say and are stuck for words . Is just to say that you are thinking of them . Pretty simple but means alot.
Anyway im having a few medical beers today .
I totally understand where you are coming from, my Dad passed away and I was so shocked when people I was very close to did not even acknowledge it, especially when he had done things for them. At Xmas dinner one of them said to me later in the day, sorry to hear about your Dad, we didn’t know what to say. I said that was all you had to say & I walked out. Folks, if you are ever in a situation like that, reach out, just say you have no idea what to say, but acknowledge that you care, it honestly means the world.

Got some answers today.
So i technically have a type of blood cancer called MPN . It is however treatable with daily medication or weekly imune injections etc to address the symptoms. . Not curable at this stage but can be managed for many years altho it can possibly progress to a more advanced stage down the track. So not great news but could have been a hell of a lot worse. .
Apparently 1 in 100'000 people get it .. so similiar odds to Weststigers winning a premiership again .

Carefactor, I am sorry to learn of your illness. Listen to your specialist and remember advances in medicine occur constantly. Take care. Paws.

Cancer just sucks , I got the bad news in June , had heaps of tests from February and then bang ,Pancreatic Cancer , no surgery available for mine as it has wrapped around main artery, had a stint put in as it blocked bile duct , that helped me turn back to normal colour from orange , started chemo in September 3 on 1 off , third week is a real killer get done Tuesday don’t come good until Friday , given 6 to 18 months but I’m planning to stick around a bit longer , very tough on family but they adjust after a while , friends are the same they don’t know what to say when they find out but I just tell them it’s all good and I be around to annoy them for a while yet , positive thinking is a must and also thoughts for now not the end , plan a trip , I’m doing 3 day cruise to no where early December friends coming so good group few days ,
