Please sign Darius Boyd.

Huh? What about reatining Jake Mullaney? He is a great fullback and already one of ours. I hope McKinnon's relaese is a sign that WT recognise Jake is a future star.

Take Boyd. If we miss on him, start Mullaney. No slight on Mullaney, but Boyd is 10x the player he is and would probably win us a premiership. He is the missing piece, not Blair.

Speaking of Brown and bombs, I saw the rare sight of a Wests Tigers player taking a contested bomb recently and Mitch Brown was the man who did it!! He looks a good choice for FB but I think we all suspect Coach Sheens will groom Tim Moltzen for the role.

I dont care either way cause i have faith in sheens to know the right way to go but brown will be the slowest fullback in the comp if he plays there.

Lote could also play fullback and brown to the wing if needed.

But well done to wade who is one of the bravest fullbacks running around

Have you seen Brown in full flight? He does not lack for pace and has McKinnon well and truly covered for speed. Take a look at the highlights clip from against the Titans last year and tell me if Brown is slow:

Hes been a good player for us, its a shame his hamstrings kept going on him, during the last month or so he was a shining light for us while the rest of the team struggled.

I say good luck to him and wish him the best.

Brown can go to - Mullaney, Moltzen or McDonell - Let the 3 of them compete

You're kidding right??? If it's between those 3 then Mullaney gets the gig even with his lack of size compared to the other two.

Yeah hello Jake

Cant believe it took 4 pages for his name to be mentioned, outta sight outta mind I spose.
Fast track time.

Yeah its time for Mullaney to be groomed for the role next year.

IMO he should now be considered the main back up to Mckinnon for this year.

I remember that!

Great speed shown by Brown on a flyer like Kevin Gordon, who is commonly referred to as the fastest player in the game.

Suffice to say, with all due respect, Mckinnon would have given up on that play about 30 metres out.

This isn't the worst news !!
McKinnon will probably miss a bunch more games this year, he is deadwood as far as I'm concerned.
Hopefully Moltzen mans up and becomes the fullback we need & he's destined to be.

Don't see how any one is losing in this situation.

Boyd would be good but it won't happen.
He is a great player.

Benji thinks fullback is Moltzen's best position - nuff said.

yeah but didnt he also say that john morris was good in the halves

Are you being sarcastic?

Comparing two blokes who should never play fulback at this club EVER again to a bloke who will most probably never be given the opportunity no matter how good he may be.

Exactly, Alien, and what Benji wants, Benji gets - that's what I was getting at with my comment.

I said in the 20's forum after there was a report that Sheens see Curtis Sironen as a long term #6 could this lead to:

1\. Benji Marshall (gives him a roaming role in attack and would be great a running back kicks, just not sure about him handling the defence and bombs)

6\. Robert Lui (probably his best position) / Curtis Sironen (very promising young talent, has great short kicking game and great ball skills)

7 Jacob Miller (looks like he has the game to develop into a top NRL halfback) / Robert Lui ( will I think develop into a top NRL half).

I was thinking the above for 2013 and onwards as Wade was contracted for 2012\. I like the thought of keeping Miller, Sironen and Lui at the club long term and the above gives that an option. Still think young Sironen would make either a great centre or lock in years to come.

Other full back options are Brown, Mullanelly Lote, Meaney or Moltzen.

Personally I would hate to see Lawrence move to fullback as I think he is an elite centre.

WESTS Tigers will release fullback Wade McKinnon from the final year of his contract to take up a lucrative English deal, **in a move that appears to ensure Tim Moltzen will remain with the club until the end of next season at least.**
The Tigers are likely to announce within days that they will allow McKinnon, who joined the club halfway through last season - ironically as a result of Moltzen's season-ending knee injury - to take up a three-year deal with Hull FC.

McKinnon was contracted until the end of next season, but it is understood the Tigers will not stand in the 30-year-old's way, given the length of the deal. Which means Moltzen, who has professed a desire to play fullback in the long term, will likely see out his deal with the club after talk he had been the subject of some interest from elsewhere.

South Sydney **had** considered Moltzen a possible option at halfback, having lost Chris Sandow to Parramatta, and there were suggestions Moltzen might request a release from his own deal to secure a longer-term and more lucrative deal. **The Rabbitohs have since decided** to show faith in their young halves, particularly the talented Adam Reynolds.

But McKinnon's new deal will likely have a positive outcome for all parties; the former Rabbitoh and Warrior can take up a profitable final contract and Moltzen can play his preferred position at the club he wants to play with.

That should have positive ramifications for star playmaker Benji Marshall, too. Marshall lives with Moltzen and the Tigers would be wary of causing any friction with their five-eighth by unsettling his good friend. There have been suggestions recently the club would be prepared to part ways with popular and long-term players Bryce Gibbs and Liam Fulton.

The Tigers' coaching staff has also been targetted by Super League. Assistant coach Peter Gentle, also Sheens's right-hand man at Test level, has met with officials from Salford, who are looking for a coach to replace Shaun McRae.

It is believed, though, that Tigers officials are not willing to release Gentle this season. As McRae was forced to quit the club as a result of ill health earlier this month and Salford had installed a caretaker coach, the club would prefer a coach who could start almost immediately. If Salford are happy for Gentle to start after the NRL season, Super League might have its next Australian coach.

The plot thickens…..who will play fullback.....will Liam & Bryce stay.....will we keep Brown.....Will Benji be CEO of the Tigers within 15 years......Can they all just play hard frigging consistent footy and beat those Dragqueens tomorrow :bawling

This would waste Benji's talents immensely… not saying he wouldn't make a good FB, but he is a waste in that position.

it's Moltzen's preferred position is it?? I'm yet to see any real desire from him to play there

Where does this leave Meaney?

A lot of forum members seem to think he is awesome for BRET.

Out in the cold. He had 2 cracks at first grade and all he did was blow up at the opposing team.
