Hull FC sign Wade McKinnon

Moltzen will play fullback next year- pencil it in now.

And he is the best option if he learns to play fullback. Moltzen with the ball in his hands and chiming into the back line = good times for the tigers.

The question is can he aim up defensively and under the high ball. If he can he will be a weapon for us.

:brick:

Mckinnon to spends the rest of the season mentoring Mitch Brown in the art of backup play and sniffing around the ruck, as he can already catch high balls, and is bloody brave in defense, and then sign brown long term from 2012.

Speaking of Brown and bombs, I saw the rare sight of a Wests Tigers player taking a contested bomb recently and Mitch Brown was the man who did it!! He looks a good choice for FB but I think we all suspect Coach Sheens will groom Tim Moltzen for the role.

This.

Mitch just needs to be aware of his size and use it. He's no slouch either so if he could develop a support play game, he'd be hard to stop one on one if he broke the line. He'd trample most other fullbacks.

Even if he can't develop flair in attack, I will always take mistake free footy from a fullback with a good defensive game over one who can play in the line but isn't willing to put the body on the line and challenge for the pill.

I agree, that's what I want to see out of a fullback first before anything else.

I hope that Sheens does decide to go with Brown at fullback, he's shown enough for mine to be able to handle it. Unforunately though, I think we will be seeing Moltzen continued to be groomed for a spot he does not appear comfortable in all.

Good luck to Wade though over there, hopefully his hamstring doesn't give him too much grief. He's been pretty good for us since coming on board.

I dont care either way cause i have faith in sheens to know the right way to go but brown will be the slowest fullback in the comp if he plays there.

Lote could also play fullback and brown to the wing if needed.

But well done to wade who is one of the bravest fullbacks running around

I saw a tigers player take a contested bomb….on tuesday night Garry Jack in the Panasonic Cup. He dropped a few too. Seems it hasn't got much easier over the years.

Lote could be an option from the back. I'd like to see him given a go there as well.

Brown might go okay but I think we need a fullback who can win us a game and I am not sure if he is the sort of player who can do that.

They will need to move more than McKinnon to get Blair under the cap so expect a couple more of these announcements over the next month or so

To lazy to read through the other 49 reply's (it may have already been thrown out their) but maybe Junior burgers not wanted at the Knights and is on his way home!!!!!

In regards to Sean Meaney, the fact that BRET are going like busteds means we don't get to see him on the NSWRL show on Wednesday arvo, Sheens also hasn't handled him well in his blink and you'll miss it NRL appearances.
I thought that Wade had signed a 3 year deal with the Tigers so If it is true and he has signed with the Airlie Birds then it will free up the salary cap, IMO we should forgo signing Blair as I don't believe that he can offer our forward pack anymore than what we have, go for a big name prop and if we need a 'Superstar' in the backline then make it Darius Boyd, yes he is a mercenary but aren't we all when it comes to a better paycheck at the end of the day.

Well he would be welcome back to help fill the depth of the club, everytime I've seen him run around for the Knights he's done well with what's around him, running around for the Maggies in 2012 would see some competition for places in the Top 25 players.

x2 CB He reads the game pretty well (not as good as MaKinnon but will put his butt on the line and thats what makes a good fullback ) As many will remember after he chased down one of the Titans wingers in the final game last year he has speed also to play the position Sounds like a good fit . Sheens has much man love for Brown also he chased him twice before he managed to get him from Sharks .

Please sign Darius Boyd.

Huh? What about reatining Jake Mullaney? He is a great fullback and already one of ours. I hope McKinnon's relaese is a sign that WT recognise Jake is a future star.

CB, I'm guess that junior burgers could be Shannon McDonnell…with a loose connection to McDonalds?

I can't see Sheens giving him the job unless Marshalls kicking really starts to go to crap and Brown or Moltzen are struggling. Its a shame but small blokes are often used as a last option.

Oh God! I don't even want to think about that!

When is Dugan off contract?

Benji thinks fullback is Moltzen's best position - nuff said.
