Hull FC sign Wade McKinnon

Has no soul? Your kidding. Has more ticker than most players in the league and when the big play is needed he usually comes up with it. He was loyal to the only father figure he has ever known. Puts his body on the line all the time. The club would be crazy to not at least have a stab at the second best fullback in the comp right after we have just lost a quality fullback ourselves.

Good luck to him.He is having a great season but not fussed about him going
Make a play for Paddy Richards.I miss his monster kicks

word is its and end of season thing - mckinnon will play out 2011 here

hopefully Brown to fullback for 2012!!

Double win!

Yesterday, Hull FC signed Wests Tigers' full-back Wade McKinnon, 30, on a three-year deal.

He replaced Leeds Rhinos' Brent Webb at New Zealand Warriors in 2008 and has also played for South Sydney and Parramatta.

Australian agent Chris Orr is trying to conclude several deals before he heads home on Monday.

Castleford Tigers' half-back Rangi Chase, 25, is one player that interests clubs Down Under.

Orr said: "I am meeting Tigers CEO Richard Wright to see where things lie, although I'm mindful they gave him his chance in Super League."

Well interesting how things fall into place. Lets look at the timeline of events:
* Supposed in-fighting due to loyal servants Gibbs, Fulton and Moltzen told to look elsewhere.
* Benji upset because his BFF told to look elsewhere
* Gibbs & Fulton not feeling the love
Then this announcement which now means:
* Gibbs & Fulton might now stay
* McKinnon not bitter as he gets a nice retirement package in the UK (Not sure how his dodgy hammys will go in the cold)
* Moltzen might stay meaning Benji is back in control of WT’s team and management

Well played Benji, well played indeed sir

yep we certainly wouldn't want Benji feeling sick to his stomach again like he was with Sheens…it makes me laugh when people laugh at how Boyd is with Bennett but never say anything about Marshall...he's petrafied to leave the womb and be out of his comfort zone...by leaving the womb i mean accepting the fact Sheens might have left and not push so hard and clash with management when 1 of your mates is being told to look elsewhere...if all this is true how can the guy call himself a professional

I Dont think benji is non professional i just beleive he is very loyal and expects the same from management. but woth the salary cap sometimes you cant keep them all

Are we releasing him at the end of this season now are we?

I hope to god if this is the case that Mitch Brown is ready to put pen to paper with us, because I will lose it if we let him go and we're left with Moltzen in the #1.

I agree with you on this one, we NEED to KEEP BROWN 😛ray:

Many are beating the Mitch Brown drum here, and rightfully so, but this means one thing to me- Sheens has found a way to put Moltzen back on the field.

Moltzen will play fullback next year- pencil it in now.

He'll constantly be lacking in defence, but he should thrive running off Dwyer, Fafita & co- more so than Brown who is generally a more 'safe' option.

Maybe Utai can be used off the bench as an 'impact foward/utility' & Brown can play the wing next to Ayshford?

if anything wouldn't this be to free up cap space for Blair and at the same time keep Benji happy and comftable in his little womb by allowing room for his mates next year?…i'm a big fan of Brown but i've alwayz been resigned to the fact he will leave at the end of the year coz i don't think he is 1 of Sheens' boys

Good luck to McKinnon but it makes for some interesting theories and predictions as to who will get the fullback jersey next season. On current form I would re-sign Brown and give him first crack. If Moltzen doesn't end up at Souths and remains at the Tigers, I can see him getting it, but I don't believe that is the right option to take. Moltzen lacks the physical and mental prowess to become a top quality fullback. Mullaney is the other option, but again, physical size is his biggest limitation to breaking into FG.

Where does this leave Meaney?

A lot of forum members seem to think he is awesome for BRET.

i can't ever see him playing FG at the tigers…he would have already played by now...considering he's never even had a sniff at FG not even when injuries have hit i think its safe to say he isn't in Sheens plans...and i think if he were as good as what people say he would have been snapped up by another club

this is the best possible outcome for mckinnon, theres no way he would have lasted another 3 seasons in the nrl

he's been great for us aside from his hammy, wish him the best of luck

And he is the best option if he learns to play fullback. Moltzen with the ball in his hands and chiming into the back line = good times for the tigers.

The question is can he aim up defensively and under the high ball. If he can he will be a weapon for us.
