Yep Australia's got the greatest Laws :unamused:

That won't even touch Hunt's back pocket .

This is why the drug trade flourishes in this country as no one cares anymore…. the whole system is a joke...and no conviction recorded what is that all about and it was a hard drug sorry PARTY DRUG!

I love how his lawyer has been playing the sympathy card.
Why would we feel sorry for him, he has got off pretty lightly.

Punishment fits the crime as it was only possession. Though had he actually tested positive for the same substance, a couple of years on the sidelines awaited.

$30k and a 6 week suspension. A decent outcome. Wasnt a hanging offence. Good to see a reasoned outcome and that a blokes career wasnt destroyed by an error in judgment.

Complete BS. Should have got two years from the game and whatever else the judge wanted to add.

Rubbish. Far bigger problems in society then a guy snorting a bit of coke. These were possession charges not supply or dealing.

Didn't Wendell get two years for his efforts? Let's be consistent if nothing else. I couldn't give a stuff if the judge did or didn't want to apply additional punishment, but he should have copped a two year ban.

He did and it was ridiculous. Let the criminal law deal with non-performance enhancing drug use. Its not a matter for sporting bodies IMO.

Not surprised by the outcome really. Having money and able to afford a very good solicitor helps doesn't it. I think the embarrassment of it all,and the hurt he caused his family is the real punishment for Hunt. Rehab and a lot of community work would be more beneficial to him at this stage then a more severe sentence .

Lot of stories going round he has dumped on a few people for a reduced sentence

With the ruling that seems like that story might have some legs

A lot of people going pretty hard on Hunt here i think. the way i see it, regardless of how many kids mistakenly look up to him, he should still be given the exact same sentence anyone else would have - be it lighter or harder than the majority here seems to feel appropriate.

yes its a sad fact that whether he likes it or not he is a role model (and thats just our society) and the fine is relatively manageable as we see it (if he hasnt spent it all on coke!) but thats life. lots of money equals good lawyer. the law is not about justice - its about how well you are able to deal with it.

anyway, here's the thought for the day:
