You can't disagree that Melbourne and Brisbane are the 2 form teams at the moment we lost to Brisbane as a result of 2 mistakes. If those 2 bombs had been taken the tigers would have won the game. That game showed me the tigers are a lot better than people give them credit for. They are a very well coached side and are coached to win tough games.
We went OK here against Bris, we showed what we are capable of…..however its usually only every 5 or 6 weeks we see them near their best. The coach cannot get any consistency from them and hasnt done this in 10 years bar a few 8 or 9 game winning streaks
Games where a team is expected to win are often the most difficult because the team expects an easy game, the fans think its a cakewalk and the media think its a done deal. it's hard to shake that expectation.
I always hear players and coaches say "There's NO easy games in the NRL, the English players say there are some easy games, not here though, and if theyre lisyening or taking any note of the media that is unprofessional to say the least
I'm sure sheens had them mentally sharp against parra, it was only when they thought it was a repeat of the penrith game that a few put the cue in the rack, and they capitulated.
...........and it coninued yet a week later for more than the first half last night, the coach had a week to prepare them for this yet it was like a continuationn of the end of the Parra game.
Last night, with the reports of so many injuries they played the first half with the expectation of a training run, and were lapped it was the second half where they switched on. All teams do this, Manly got done by parra and the titans. Judge sheens on his performance at the end of the year, not after week 9 where we are 4&5\. To be honest I think they're doing ok in spite if the fact we are a half short.
That doesnt wash, sorry:
_Wests Tigers Head Coach Tim Sheens says his players must respect whoever starts for the Gold Coast Titans at Skilled Park on Saturday night._
“The Titans showed (against Brisbane) they have got plenty of spirit in the club. We are not in such a good position where we can expect to just turn up to win. We haven’t won there (Skilled Park) very often at all so we are expecting a tough game.
“They have a very strong forward pack. The big issue for us is making sure we respect whoever they start.
