If the NRL is a business...

Of course.

Imagine if Farah played 1 game the song and dance you would be making about it.

Dud signing written all over it and plenty of fans said so back when it was announced.

On Ballin, he should have been good to go for round 1, but had complications in his recovery. He should be fit for round 1 next yr. He'll mentor Liddle and Liddle will take the reigns in 2018.

I got full faith in a 33 year old Ballin being ready for Round 1 after 2 straight years out with 2 Knee surgeries 😕

Ballin didn't miss last year did he? I thought he got njured late in the year.

200 K for 1 game

I would not call that a bargain.

Sorry.

Was apparently only on 80 this year. 200K next year.

Whatever.

It's been no bargain deal for way i see it.

Taken a valuable spot in the Top 25.

I'd say it would be wiser to judge his worth at the end of next season. But that's just me.

End of next season
He's got to make it up the Wanda sand dunes before that :roll

Great …..another year of developing another junior :unamused:

Yes, it's nuts when you think that Cherry was already ripe for the picking! I would still like to know why he was allowed to leave - I was really looking forward to seeing what a spine of Tedesco, Moses, Brooks and Cherrington could do.

He was looking good was Cherry !
He'd put on some bulk … Maybe he looked at Taylor the wrong way ?
Maybe Taylor felt threatened ??
Maybe Cherrington was too good of mates with Farah ???
Who knows ????

I'd assume because the club sees Liddle as the better prospect. Tbh i've never seen anything from Cherrington to convince me he's Farah's successor.

I liked him, thought he added a lot of spark out of dummy half and combined well with the halves when he came on in the games he played last year. I haven't really seen much of Liddle to compare them - he's only played one first grade game this year hasn't he? They probably should've blooded him a bit more this season if he's gonna be the future rake, but I assume 2nd tier issues prevented that.

This is like comparing apples and oranges.

Its like saying you get rid of the two guys that collect the garbage who are on $40K and not their boss who is on $100K. Its cheaper.

But then who collects the garbage?…....

You don't , you recycle !
Make Farah coach , save $950k off the cap !
It's a win /win

I have always thought that. what a challenge it would be for the guy who has already won everything and to show the previous coach how it should be done. His pride and reputation are on the line. He knew the youngsters were not ripe yet, he knew not all players were pulling their weight. He seems to know something about defence, about attack, about kicking, about grinding out a game, reading the numbers up the middle. Give It to him for one year but only after some very serious conversations and caveats about sloppy defence and the team trying the full 80 minutes. He only gets paid extra if all those conditions satisfied.

…then from that perspective, it will cost the WT Club $950k to get ride of Farah or I assume, $500K to get ride of Taylor.

The pros and cons are:
- Taylor said we are looking for a No.9 and yet we have a SOO player on our books signed for 2017 that we don't have to spent a cent on.
_**A SOO hooker that has proven to fail and fail again**_
- Who better to guide Little than an experienced SOO rake
**_One who knows how to play in a team - And win. ie: Ballin_**
- Has the team really improved under Taylor and how will it get better next year when he continually picks players that arent up to first grade standard?
**_When he has the money to buy them after getting rid of the overpaid ones we have now..._**
- How from a business sense do you buy a No.9 with a dodgy knee and expect them to be part of the first team after 6months. Anyone who has had or watches players with an ACL injury knows the mental demons take 18months.
**_Which explains how Farah was part of a premiership winning team then next year after doing his..._**
-The coach bought a player with a dodgy knee and the club is paying him to work on his strength and fitness while taking money from the Cap.
**_Dual premiership winner, Coming from a winning culture who is being mostly paid by the club we got him from_**
In my opinion, and from a business perspective, cut your losses with Taylor and move on.

You obviously don't run a business, Let me break it down for you
- Is the juice worth the squeeze, If no - Get rid of it.

It's not the 1960s

Gotta get a coaching license to coach first grade these days

It's not that hard to get , I have my mod coaching ticket , and I've just acquired my international coaching ticket .
How did Taylor get his ????

I'm sure someone of Farahs stature wouldn't find it too hard to get
Bring back the 60's !

so you'd back Farah as coach of the WTs fresh out of getting a license . Don't worry about lower grades straight into firsts .

Under the current circumstances … Yes I would take a punt .
Save 950k off the cap , Taylor gone !

Farah's not perfect by all means ..
Everyone has their flaws , but I think Farah would have more footy smarts than Taylor .

"take a punt" on a rookie coach because you think he has "footy smarts"

It just shows the desperate lengths some will go to due to their hatred for Taylor. This is personal for some, make no mistake about that. I haven't seen anything like it over anyone else in the game, ever. Pure hatred.

Well Taylor's done Jack in 2 seasons !

GNR like or not Taylor has it all to prove as an NRL coach. No finals wins as a coach in 6 full seasons.

The fact he got sacked and knocked out at Souths and then came over here talking trash about defence, rubbishing other coaches and then have taken on a club legend like RF has not adhered him to all Tigers fans.

Even if you disagree with that you cant see why some Tigers fans cant stand him.

Mick Potter never had this crap written about him despite taking on RF. He had the support of i reckon about 75% of Tigers fans.

I wonder why? People saw him as a coach who didn't talk rubbish and stood for something.

People might disagree with me and thats fine, its just my take on it.

Potter had potential, but had the personality of Richie Cunningham. JT, like his mentor Brian Smith is ruthless. He might eventually be a sacrificial lamb, but i think the next coach will benefit from what he started. For the back half of this season you can't fault the sides attitude. We've showed better attitude over the last few months than we have in the last 5 years. Friday night was a write off, but overall we're heading in the right direction in that aspect.
