Off the back of his 300th NRL game, Marshall echoed the coach's sentiments.

"Our group does try but there are a lot of things we’ve got to work on," he said.

"Especially on a day like today, it was hard to celebrate because I want to win and make the finals. Today was special but I would rather have got the result.

“As a leader in this group, part of me wants to make sure we do that and that didn’t happen today, Simple errors cost us a lot and then we’re chasing the game at the back end, and I think we're a better team when we're in the fight."

Wake up to yourself Benji. You never make the finals.

It's not his fault, he's been playing well. If he had some decent players and finishers outside him we'd be a shoe in to make the finals. Our backline sucks!

Good call. Also worth remembering we've never made the finals without him.

No in 1sts the playmakers bear the brunt of poor execution. Only losers who cant play lay the blame on the people around him..

Its never his fault - that's the problem. The amount of times it wasn't his fault when he ran out of the line and missed, and the amount of times we needed outside backs with orangutan arms to catch his wayward passes, and the amount of games he hasn't controlled to lead us to victory and he damn well should have given his supposed leadership credentials are too countless to mention. It's tiresome listening to fans, commentators and journos with glowing praise but without acknowledging his failures. Benjis record as a winner isn't that great and his history of finals appearances is a pretty good reflection of that. I'm not ignoring his many brilliant moments that have astounded me and had me jumping out of my chair. I admire all he has achieved. But he is not the bloke to get us to the finals this year, next year or ever in my opinion. He's being selfish in going around again. We need youth. Times up. Help out at training Benji. But for Gods sake, stay off the pitch. Sorry about the rant.

Loved benjis stepping in thr eels game, really kept thr defence guessing...benji needs to give brooks a few tips on it... brooks will improvr in leaps and bounds, if he had benjis step

For me , we don't win the next two games we won't make the Top 8

People will say it is mathematically possible but our goose will be cooked for 2019 if we don't beat the Raiders and Knights

Thoughts ???

You don't say...

Not confident at all this weekend ......feel a L coming on

Today was huge. Literally a 4 point game.

When you are battling for 8th spot, you have to at least beat the team currently in 8th!

Your not wrong Your absolutely right my thoughts too, if you cant get up for one of the most inspiratinal players weve seen from our own club,in my time, Benjis 300th, whew give up football, im only a fan but i wouldve played in benjis 300th until i was in hospital. this boy has become a man a Good Man, how dare you team mates let my Benji down, he was the only one trying against Parra and you all just watched. in a good team with free reign free will, we wouldve seen more of the best of Benji

I said it last week after the game, the only thing that is consistent with Wests Tigers is that the more things change the more they stay the same.

We go through coaches, boards, CEO's, players and grounds and the result is always the same.

I felt like we were getting somewhere at the start of the year then Pascoe got suspended and Go walked, and everything subsequently went to pot.

We're all die hards and there are plenty more out there who don't frequent this forum but at what point does the club stop and say "how much longer can we ask the fans to keep the faith"?

7, probably 8 after this year, years without finals footy. I've always tried to be relatively optimistic about the club when coaches and players were appointed but it's just hard to generate that enthusiasm anymore.

No faith at all

Recruitment wise it wouldn't surprise me if we thought in 2003 we had signed Steve Price not Scott Prince

But if players don't want to come , it doesn't matter how good recruitment is

And something tells me that is a major issue now , you can earn 700 k playing for the roosters and be almost guaranteed of finals and probably rep footy or 800 k at the WT's and be guaranteed nothing

I know what I'd chose

G'day @happy_tiger: $700,000 divided by 52 = $13,461.538461per week
