Use Sheens as the scape goat. Its what small minded people do.
It's funny that whenever we lose it's the players fault, but whenever we win it's Sheens. He really is a protected species by some around here.
Of course I don't blame Sheens for everything, only the things he can control. He obviously can't control Beau Ryan dropping the ball and getting smashed off a kick return like a U12's player, nor can he control Tim Moltzen standing like a deer in headlights when a bomb goes up.
However, Sheens can control picking Ryan on the wing, and selecting Moltzen at fullback and that is what I will criticise him for. You can blame injuries all you like but when there are valid alternatives available that is no longer an excuse. As an example, we had two fullbacks picked in the #17 last week, yet Sheens still played Moltzen at fullback.
Sure we have been crippled by injuries this season so far, so I will not start slitting my wrists yet. This is a very poor competition so I still think we can do well. The next six weeks will tell us alot about how we will fare this season. However so far I see the same poor player selections, the same rigid and stubborn interchange plan, the same poor bench selections, the same poor and erratic defense, the same poor mental attitude, the same poor kicking game, and the same poor fifth tackle options. Of course the players need to take some of the blame for these, but the coach is in charge of the joint so the buck stops with him.
As for our roster, I suspect most coaches would LOVE working with our squad. We have depth in most positions, and fully fit on paper at least our side is definitely a top four side.
