Its Almost Over

Sums up the situation perfectly.

In addition to high impact forwards, speed across the park, mental toughness and footy IQ, we need players that are 'aggressive' not 'passive'; players that can set an example & motivate others when the chips are down; and, some x-factor!
Hastings offers most of that and when he plays the team seem to put in better.....he is an aggressive player,by that I mean he takes the game on and tries to get them to go forward, but then look where that got him for the last 3 weeks....

Sounds like our current plan. Sign the worst players at other clubs and expect a different outcome . Genius.

If the Opera House was up for sale they may move it to Perth.
If the wests tigers licence is up for sale anybody can buy it, but let's be naive and think it can't possibly happen
Benny Elias and consortium tried to buy it last year, easy for someone else to throw hat in the ring if wests ashfield are willing at some point

You miss the point - all clubs have to deal with players being unavailable. It's part of the game, not some 'extra' struggle only the Tigers are dealing with.

Doesn't stop it being used as a common excuse for many here happy to accept failure though.
I agree with you mate. I think the point being made is our squad already as it is was going to struggle no matter what against other teams. The players being unavailable has made it practically impossible. That is a blight on how horrible our recruitment drive has been and understandably so considering the perennial failure this club has been over the best part of 20 years. Who would want to come and play at the WT?

Why is it that people who have a differing opinion must automatically be labelled as 'happy to accept failure'. That's all you see on this forum these days. I'm not happy to expect failure, yet I have adifferent opinion.

I do agree with what you're saying, and I certainly haven't missed the point.

My example was Radley is suspended for the Roosters and is replaced by Crichton with Nat Butcher on the bench. Their replacements are still 8/10 players. Our replacements are only 3/10 players. So yes, they have to deal with adversity just like us, but they cover it easier.

Now to clarify, I don't accept failure. I'm mighty pi55ed that we cant compete at least to be in the 8 regularly. I'm mighty pi55ed that we have to fix the wrongs of the last 10-15 years too. But I'm not convinced sacking Maguire solves all the problems and then we are in the top 4 next year. I'm also not convinced sacking Pascoe does that either. Absolutely we need to do something, but measured responses based on fact and business sense, as in any business, will see us through. I don't pretend to know the intricacies of what happens in this club financially, personality wise, politically wise etc. But for a few things, the narrative would be very different, even though the problems remain.

Come on everyone on this depressed forum , there is only one way out of this mess , and in means Madge has to go the players are just not playing for him , and I know the players are not class players , but we can’t sack all the players we are stuck with them , I different coach with a different message a different game plan is the only way out .

So what now? Where do Wests Tigers go from here?
The Team are playing like park footballers & that assessment is kinder than the performances deserve. The lack of enthusiasm or effort is obvious.
The Coach seems to be accepting the absolute rubbish performances and ignoring the fact that we are going backwards. He just trots out the same old tired cliches and tries to convince supporters that they are improving. He is enjoying the challenge, guess what the fans are not.
The roster is full of players that would not get a run at any other club, nor should they.
The CEO & board are invisible.
As a fan this hurts. I can handle losing, I have been a fan long enough to accept loss as part of NRL. Loss where there is effort & passion , I can deal with. The garbage we are getting this year is totally lacking in effort or passion. We are getting worse every week and I can’t see the Centre Of Mediocrity changing it.
I see the players laughing it up after the game, the fans are not laughing.
Respect the jumper or move along.
I would rather field a team of kids who get flogged but try their hearts out than keep the guys we are fielding now.
Not sure what replies I expect but just venting.
I agree 100% with ur thoughts, but have u watched the nsw cup side , they are not even a-grade standard, so he kids idea is out I think .

Wrong mate sorry to say,the ineptness of the players out there yesterday will only do the same with a new coach...they havent got the smarts or talent to compete at NRL level...sure a new coach with Hastings AD,TT,AJ,JTJ,Laurie all fit and playing may change a couple of results, but then you will realise how tough Madge has had it these last 5 rnds....

Personally sacking the coach is not going to change anything this year, but we can’t just roll on and not do anything. The team is on the slide for many reasons, but we can’t sit back and do nothing.

After a preseason that started back in November and now five weeks into the comp the team is playing like they were just put together last week. Zero team work on display, the spine seems to have little or no idea what they are doing. They are outright terrible to watch. In the past we have had flair but no defence, but now we are the ultimate plodders.

Anyway we need to probably do what the Sharks did last year and get a caretaker in for the remainder of the year and appoint a new coach sometime between now and the end of the year

Sheens is the Director of Football Operations with Maguire reporting to him. Now you initially believed that Maguire didn't report to Sheens. Admittedly, you have more positions than the Karma Sutra and I don't pay much attention to what you write.

Soon we can say Sheens, Potter, Taylor, Cleary and Maguire will reinforce that fact. It's worked every other time...........
