Ivan Cleary - THREAD..

Penrith will have to make a call on their coaching position for 2019 in the next few weeks. That will put all this speculation to bed.

As for Cleary there is no doubt where he would prefer to be in 2019 and it is not at Concord, but he knows he has a legal binding contract that he will honour. Pascoe and the board now have to make the big call, do they hold IC to his contract or do they get someone who really wants the gig. If it was my call I would keep IC and spend the next two years finding a great replacement.

Out at Penrith today and the Panthers reckon Cleary is not their coach it’s dead in the water because of Gus leaking the fact Griffin was sacked because Cleary agreed to come to Penrith. They also confirmed Nathan has made zero decision and hasn’t even sat down with the club as yet. It sounds like he was enticed and saw a way out but realised the damage it was doing to his family.
I suspect we have it all wrong including myself. He may not go anywhere and may sign an extension if offered he loves the Tigers.

Thanks TYGA, interesting to see what happens.

Hope you are right

Not happy about the last few weeks but let's face it we don't really know what went down

Take all this for what it's worth, but out Penrith way they still are very confident Ivan will be their coach next year. I spoke to a Panthers member who sits near folk he reckons are in the know and that's what they think is happening. And he also said Nathan just bought a house in the Penrith area, again for what that's worth. Last bit, again for what it's worth, Ivan at a WestCare charity function on 16/8 where Dave O'Neill was in attendance

No fire for sure but lots of smoke

No sightings of Gus though on the grassy knoll

Been Saying this for weeks now that he is Gone… Ever sense the press conference and he would NOT take questions I thought this. I would only hope the club is looking at a top coach and not leaving it until its too late. I don't want him if he doesn't want to be here. I would also assume we would get compensation from Panthers as well..

The fact we have not been mentioned in signing players aswell says they are waiting for new coach to make some decisions. I Hope I am Wrong though.

If anyone was thinking of coming, our performance on Friday night is probably enough to make them reconsider and stay where they are, nothing has changed.

Cheers, TYGA. Many of us including myself may have it all wrong like you say.

Thanks mate, whilst I haven't bagged Cleary I have been left feeling less than confident with his words and actions.

Who knows everyone has an opinion either way only Cleary knows what he will do. I sense Penrith have butchered this beyond belief and made it impossible even if he wanted to go. It has been handled terribly by Cleary and Penrith the Tigers said what they had to for their members and fans.

I’m more concerned with lack of recruitment.
Coach is less important than the players in the field.
