Ivan Cleary - THREAD..

Well, Pascoe was adamant that Wests Tigers "would not be granting a release to Ivan Cleary". So by that quote, one might assume that … 1) Ivan asked for a release, and, 2) Was told 'no'.
If that assumption is correct, then I am really disappointed in Ivan. But am very pleased in Pascoe's and Go's stance.
And I am particularly aggrieved at Penrith's attack on our club - and that is what it amounts to. So screw Penrith and screw Gould!

He also said that neither Ivan or his manager have approached the club for a release.

Maybe he is speaking the truth or maybe he is hiding the fact Ivan wants out.

Gould is desperate. He set the wheels in motion when he claimed that he wouldn't get in the way of Nathan leaving to join his Dad. DUH? That's cos he can't! Cos NC has the Get Out Clause in his contract! I can't help but think that IC & Pascoe have set this up to unsettle Penriff. Both Men sacked by Gould! NC can't be approached until November. We need a top 8 side to collapse. What a coup by IC & Pascoe if they managed to remove Griffen & unsettle Penriff. BTW the Tigers had the day off today according to Josh Reynolds 360\. Coincidence? No players around to comment? … But then I woke up!

Just wondering how many Journo's have got their info correct in this case. Pretty sure it was a Cleary double deal at both the chooks and horses a couple of weeks ago.

If the situation is true and smoking gun is saying at it is Wests Tigers have NO leverage.

Ivan wants to leave to coach Penrith, we beat our chests say no it is not happening he’s under contract.

If we don’t let him go we have a coach who doesn’t want to be here. So in affect the leader of the football doesn’t want to be at the club which is filter down through all levels like a poison. Penrith will offer the club some half arsed tokenistic deal knowing they are the ones with power and we are screwed.

The only hope we have is that Ivan is a man of his word and is having one over Penrith to lure Nathan here. But let’s be honest from what we know of each clubs facilities, player potential and money Penrith is a stronger club.

The leverage tigers have is he can’t coach another first grade NRL team til 2021\. The leverage is Penrith are hell bent on keeping Nathan they are trying to lure his dad there now. If Penrith don’t want to wait they will ha r to give up assets. That’s business

Well SG I have my list for Gus

You keep IC and NC

We will have

Tamou
RCG
Maloney
Mansour
Kikau

and 1.2 million in compensation

Sorry what was that Gus ??

Sorry Gus , I can't understand you …....oh sorry your gagging on it

My apologies

It’s also something that Gus said in his tweet that got me thinking that this may all be a storm in a teacup.
The only mistake that Cleary has made so far is that he waited two weeks too long to inform his employer of the meeting with the Panthers.
So we will wait and see ….. but to relax? I have a headache mate ..... and it’s getting worse. Can’t sleep and where is my TD?

Clearly is staying and I will tell you why

Clearly did not make a mistake waiting two weeks he only told the CEO on Monday because he did not want him to worry after the Penrith coach was sacked if Clearly wanted to leave he would have told the CEO two weeks ago that he wanted out I have been offered jobs many times and you never ever tell the guy that you work for about it unless you want to leverage something out of him you keep your mouth shut and have a happy working environment

Have you ever heard of punctuation?

:brick: :brick:

We’re gonna get pumped by Canberra. There’ll be a huge Cleary backlash at Leichhardt vs Dragons from the 7,000 who attend. Hope I’m wrong. But that’s generally how things pan out at the WT.

Who's Clearly? I expected better English from the Queen!

I didn't see this coming…
Then again, I couldn't believe it when Captain Tiger Aaron Woods bolted albeit not while under contract.
If the early release demand from coach Cleary is true it would be a stunning act of betrayal.
Phil Gould's integrity & legacy will also come under scrutiny from the whole NRL community.
Just guessing but I believe Ivan Cleary will get his early release.
As long as we are compensated happy for him to leave now, put Brett Hodgson in charge for the remaining games.
Let's hope we can snag a decent coach.
Imagine away coach Ivan Cleary at Leichhardt & Campbelltown next year...talk about a grudge match!

The saddest thing in all of this is that we’ve got a game to win this week - an incredibly important one. All this uncertainty means our players aren’t focusing on the game. They’ll say they are focused, but the reality is next year this’ll be the reason for another derailed season and the players always come out with the truth somewhere down the line.

The Farah fiasco, the Tedesco/Woods/Moses show, now this.

Man I feel for the players. Ivan needs to come out and put this to bed one way or another.

Let's see if Pascoe really means what he says , something tells me it's only a matter of time before the Club buckle .
We are known as a Club for a job back in the NRL Coaching circles , Potter was Coaching Saints and got a crack with us cause we had no $$$ to get a decent Coach same for JT and Ivan Cleary .
So 2 years after being sacked all of a sudden Cleary can Coach in Gus's eyes…..please give me a break , Gus knows it will back fire on him massively if Nathan Cleary leaves as much as he will never admit it.

These past 4 years has been ZERO progress for this Club .

Surely he will give the club a chance to make a counter offer, this is Ivans big bargaining chip either for an extension with us and Nathan or both to Penrith.

I imagine he was offered huge money from the Panthers, depends how much we want him.

Pascoe confiscated the keys off Ivan for taking his kindness for a weakness & testing their relationship. This is their chance to put it all aside & build a Dynasty here @ the Tigers though and they don't even know it.

Ivan could backtrack out of having a guilty conscience, and be a man & say "Yeah, nah, I met with the Panthers, but I never asked for a release - I'm staying at the Tigers, and am in-charge of this rebuild", he has the opportunity to do the honorable thing and lay down all the shame on Gus, he would rebrand himself overnight. He would turn into the Lord of Concord if he stayed & brought his son over, everything would be forgotten.

It could go either way realistically though.
