I’d say the only way Ivan is going back to Penrith is if he has been promised Gus won’t be around anymore. Gus just doesn’t know it yet.

I got emotional reading that pfftt.
He sussed the reaction from the general public all week and figured this is the safest way to keep his reputation in check.

Penrith may well back down.
Imagine getting in a coach for 2 years knowing their getting the arse.

It forces our hand.
We either extend him or we keep a coach for 2 more years and can’t attract players to long term deals because they want to know who the coach is, or we have to let him go early and get a new coach.
I can’t see any other way out that works for us.

It was a month ago everyone was emotional about the idea he was going to go to Broncos or Roosters. he still might but nothing has changed, He is with us for the next two years.
