I think he’s more likely to end up at Souths than the Dogs. And I don’t think he’s likely to end up at Souths.

Idk how anyone could emerge favourites, especially a club who hasn’t really been in the frame. He wouldn’t be talking to anybody atm.

That’s right but he did say his manager is doing the talking

But the ultimate decision comes from JAC. How can it be determined that the Dogs have emerged favourites if JAC’s focus is on the finals.

4Life as you know where there’s smoke I will believe he has signed with us when it is official announced by the club.
Until then who knows but I think we can both agree we badly need a player of his quality

I guess the PM just talks to interested clubs and then at seasons end he just lays the deals out in front of JAC ...

Any idea on when JAC will be announced @THE_POM?

Wouldn’t be until after grand final if we sign him for next season. If it’s for 2022 we can’t officially do it until November 1

The key point IMO is JAC has 'not' be released...and the Storm want a replacement. So, it is open season until then. Their football manager publicly criticised us for our dealings, so it is not like they will want to do us a favour.

JAC wants to be in Sydney ASAP, so you would have to think he will go to whichever club can get him that release immediately.

Melbourne might just have the cut their losses the way that Wests did with Matterson and Easts did with Latrell. Get them off the books ASAP so they don't cost you in a contract year that they will not be playing for you.

Bulldogs reportedly in box seat to sign Storm grand final winger Josh Addo-Carr

The Bulldogs have become favourites to sign Storm winger Josh Addo-Carr, a new report says.

The Daily Telegraph reported that Addo-Carr was a big chance to play for a grand final opponent next season, with Panthers assistant Trent Barrett taking over as Canterbury head coach. Addo-Carr, the NSW Origin and Australian Test winger, is a Barrett fan.

Addo-Carr is seeking a move back to Sydney for family reasons. The Rabbitohs and Wests Tigers are also in the mix for his signature.

It has been reported that he wants to play fullback; it is unclear what position he may play at the Bulldogs. The struggling club has already signed Canberra winger Nick Cotric for next season, though he could play in the centres.

The Storm granted Addo-Carr a release on the proviso that it gained a comparable player in return from his new club. That sticking point will need to be worked out in the ongoing negotiations.

Addo-Carr is leaving all negotiations to his management, aiming to enjoy a winning farewell with Melbourne in the looming grand final.

"I made the decision to put all that stuff behind me and really focus on the finals series," he told The Sunday Footy Show.

"My manager and the Melbourne Storm are really working their backsides off to get this deal

What this report says to me (particularly with the Pom news) is that the Tigers have made the right offer, sounds about right. If the Dogs drop out of the clouds and poach him it is ONLY about $$$ and the Tigers are right and doing the right thing letting it go.

Wont stop a lot of hand wringing here about how terrible we are because we let another one slip, but at the end of the day, to me , the club is going about this in a professional manner.

Whilst I somewhat agree, if we miss out on JAC to the dogs, we will cop it in the press big time about how the club is a mess. I think the JAC signing has more riding on it for the club’s future than many people realise, miss another one and we will be highlighted as a club to avoid

Im sure you are right, and there will be some here and in the wider public who lap it up....the alternative is worse though having players tied up on ridiculous contracts.

Agree 100%... He is clearly going in 2022 regardless of what Storm want so as of Nov 1 we should be putting pressure on him to commit for 2022 as that would shut other clubs down on trying to come in late to sign. If he has agreed to terms already as some think it should happen next week after GF so all parties can move forward and JAC himself can focus on NSW.

Seyfarth should buy a lottery ticket.

Thought Seyfarth and Clark were very much the same type of player. Would have hung onto Clark before Seyfarth.

Clark was a better defender, Seyfarth misses/falls off tackles regularly. Both have no impact in attack.

This is why I felt we should have hung onto Clark. They were both bog average in attack but Clark was a better defender and could play longer minutes.

Then when everyone left I was gutted, and as a result really killed my enthusiasm and it’s never fully recovered. It’s not healthy to be that fully invested. There’s more to life

For me it's about separating the off-field and the on-field. There's only ever more and more circus-style nonsense off the field and it's become borderline toxic at times. So I am interested in the news, I am in here every day, but I don't put too much energy in the rumour and innuendo because 75% of what you read turns out not to be true.

Further to this, off-field you never have even a fraction of the real picture of what's going on. So why worry about it? That's the part I don't get. Why worry about Addo-Carr, either he'll sign or he won't. And if he does we don't win a premiership for that reason, and if he doesn't, we don't lose the premiership either.

I know - for a fact - a few bits and pieces of information about the club in 2020 and it's nowhere near what the external narrative appears to be.

On-field is something else, on-field is 80 full-on minutes and you can see everything with your own eyes. There may be varied opinions but it's all there in front of you, out in the open. That's the part I invest in, then try not to be too moody when we lose.

Best part about NRL is there's always another season, for as long as I live Tigers will probably have another shot every year.

Souths have AJ who is a left winger, Easts have Tupou who is a left winger, I should feel confident, but I read today that Parra and WestsTigers were the 2 hardest teams to deal with according to player managers, why is it we can't get our crap together

Why is it you believe the paper immediately when a comment is made?

Maybe Tigers are just being money conscious. Maybe a player manager or two has an axe to grind. Maybe it's all made up.

How did you come to that conclusion, where have I said that, you need to re read my posts. I said Rothfield could have made it up, and if this happens, big difference

Here:
>but I read today that Parra and WestsTigers were the 2 hardest teams to deal with according to player managers, why is it we can’t get our crap together

If I misunderstood I apologised. But it reads: WT are one of two hardest teams to deal with, why can't we get our crap together?

I asked why you assume that is true.

The digs already spent 650k on a winger in cotric, are they really going to spend another 600k on a second winger?? Especially given other issues they have? Highly unlikely…

Oh I could believe the Dogs could do such a thing, because their recruitment has been horrendous. Not that it's a good plan.

Surely if there is any opportunity to medically retire Packer it should be taken. I get the impression he's only continuing playing to get his money, the club wants to move him on. Medical retirement is a win win.

Honestly, how could anyone possibly take a narrative that Tigers are a mess, if Addo-Carr joins Bulldogs?

Anyone joining Bulldogs shows that "being a mess" has nothing to do with it, because Bulldogs are the most disrupted and poorly-performing club going around. Broncos, at least, still have huge business in Brisbane and very solid support. Bulldogs have just gone through another board, sacked a coach and hired a new one who was sacked from his last appointment, were saved from the spoon only by F/A and have nothing doing in their spine for yet another year.

Bulldogs won 3 games in 2020. So people can run the "even Bulldogs can sign players why can't Tigers" line, but in making those signings Bulldogs have only being digging deeper and deeper holes for themselves, because they have been poorly-considered, badly funded signings, and the players who join are going backwards.

Well yes, I'd have kept Matt over both those guys. But if I am picking one over the other, it would have always been Clark. Maybe Madge sees a bigger ceiling in Seyfarth due to his size. Size means nothing without mongrel to go with it.
