On the radio a few minutes ago, headline was JAC could stay at the Storm. But the actual story is Storm want a replacement.

JAC is crucial to our rebuild. Get the deal done.

It'd be great to get him but making it so one dimensional isn't helpful. He'd be good but he isn't the key to our rebuild. The key is developing a quality squad. JAC would help us do that but if we miss out there will be other players.

We need quality. JAC is quality and has a soft spot for WTs. The cast offs and rejects mentioned from other clubs don't cut it.

I'm not doubting that JAC is a quality player and we want to get him. I'm just stating that you don't control that outcome. You put a good offer in, you don't get caught up in the media and fan dribble and you let JAC make the decision.

At the same time you are continually on the lookout for players that will fit our system.

If cast offs and rejects fit our system and the players we want here and you can get them a little cheaper go for it. I reckon Douiehi is a classic example of a guy we can build around and he is a reject.

The players we need rarely find their way to the reject bin. Why do some coaches believe they can magically turn DWZ into a an incisive, consistent strike centre or winger? When he shows you whom he is, believe him! Is it arrogance that I know better than anyone else? I am concerned we purchased Leilua J whom is a dud. I don't want that repeated otherwise my faith in the new management would be sorely tried.

BJ is a good example to me of a good contract for us. The guy can play. When he is one he is really good. He just has a lot of downsides to his game as well. We can get rid of him though after this season so he has to perform. That is why it's a good contract. The downside isn't that bad.

I get what you are stating though. We need quality players to improve and that means top end players. It's hard to purchase those guys though. It's not often they come on the market. I don't think we can rely on signing those guys.

Don't worry Joey will be on in 2021 - The solution was no Benji and all his baggage.

It's his defence. No 1 issue in the centres. Talau for me at right centre.

Talau to lock
McIntyre getting strong interest from north of the border

Why? Talau has good pace, finished well when asked to even on the wing and is highly rated by the Storm as well. I thought McIntyre had re-signed?

JAC won’t be at the club. Wayne grub Bennett has change his mind and will have cap space for him. JAC did agree to terms with tigers but now backfliped.

Sorry Sam Walker

Any update on Tigers signings ? You mentioned Gebbie a while back? I assume we missed JAC also

Nothing has changed with JAC. I said 3 weeks ago that he agreed to terms I don’t know where all this is coming from or I know that Melbourne wanted a player swap but Madge won’t. When they signed Jennings we thought they would have released him. All the talk about South and bulldogs have been rubbish.

Why is the heads of agreement null and void if Foxx stays at Storm in 21?

HOA are non binding merely an intention to sign a contract. I’d assume the term is for next year onwards and subject to a release.

It was stated ..from 22?
Maybe both parties unsure about changing circumstances?

That’s a good sign. I think it’s a huge gamble but at least he’s a gun player.

Lets see,I dont think they can get the cap right to squeeze in JAC for 2021,but if they get rid of some player(s)and get the cap right for 2022 then they get JAC,thats why the "I can stay in Melb for one more year"..
I dont think the family situation has changed,I think he wants to be with the brotherhood...his manager has used us as a vehicle hence the HOA....the deal with us is just a foil,we havent got anyone to swap with,Melb know it and Jacs manager knows it..

Absolutely agree with this TT - thought the same thing myself.

He has always wanted to play with the Bro's....

If we go off insidemans post...we were both on the same page regarding JAC...the sudden movement from left field of players made me think why the sudden desperation to upgrade LM and move Roberts on when Bennett wanted him at the Rabbits and Allen getting shafted...the NRL circus just keeps on giving...

With the 6 again rule Tommy would kill it around the ruck instead of waiting for the ball in an old style attack structure that relies block plays ?

If this correct , what player is going to Melbourne? What about the talk in the media that JAC is okay to stay in Melbourne next year?

Roberts is suspect not sure what club will be brave enough to take him on. South's will be paying most of his contract where ever he goes. Corey Allen and Liam Knight look like the fall guys. Makes you wonder if this all comes off if Bennett makes these decisiins alone or is he pressured into it.

Can’t understand not wanting to give them Talau especially now Josh is willing to stay at Melbourne for another season

Unless Talau becomes an Australian level player it will not be worth it. Maybe they think that highly of him at the club

Hey Josh
Don’t be sucker mate .... it’s a game game of bluff poker.
We don’t need to give them anything that we want/need to keep.

Melbourne will be quite happy to keep him another season, they get a top quality winger on the cheap it’s much better for them. They can hold out for a swap all season long if need be

Come 2022 the entire nrl will chase him and we will have no chance.

Then that's the way it plays out.

Then we miss out on yet another big signing due to our club being dumb. Not really on board with that one

Yeah we disagree on that. I don't believe in giving up a player to sign another.

Why not if it is going to strengthen the team

Because you don't get full value out of the player you are signing, we will be stronger on that wing but weaker somewhere else. So for full freight of what JAC is worth we get all his skill but we minus what Nofa brings to the team. We don't have a ready made replacement that brings what Nofa brings so we either find someone that matches him or we lose out in that position. Now overall we end up with a net gain, but is the net gain we achieve worth what we are paying JAC at full freight.

We have offered him what he is worth with a chance to earn more. He either comes or he doesn't.

If it's one or the other I'd take JAC over Noff. Swapping Talau or Momo wouldn't take a second to think about

I'd take JAC over Nofa too, but that is not what I was saying. We are willing to pay full freight on JAC, by giving up a player we don't get full worth unless we can find another player to replace what Nofa does for the team..

I see what your saying, but the value of having JAC will still be better than have Noff.
I wouldn't give him up straight away ,
but if it came down to being the clincher then seeyaa Noff.

No the clincher is "See ya JAC" because Nofo doesn't want to go and Madge doesn't want him to go.

That doesn't take a second either.

Yes, just rinse and repeat 2020. It's time for change and if Nofoaluma went a good replacement could be found from within.

Why would Noffo go?

Don't say because of Bellamy, or a premiership winning team, loyal to the club so he will do what they ask etc. etc.

You still have to go to stinking Melbourne and LEAVE your family.

Exactly the same thing you are trying to overcome with JAC - reunite WITH his family.

The scenario is a joke.

You want JAC .... Buy him!!!

Don't expect others to ruin their life to satisfy a few fan objectives.

If he is being this difficult - forget him, he is just a fast winger who will not win us a premiership, might help in some small way but he is NOT a must have spine player.

Well said .. the problem is it seems Melbourne are having trouble signing players .. if there was no problem there would be no need for this strange swap deal ! Cannot seem to fill 2 wing spots.

Tell us something we don't know, please.

If Storm were serious they would make Mansour a decent offer for a year or 2. A specialist winger, played SOO and for Australia, he is 30.

I think Storm are really struggling to sign players because they don't know where they will be based next year, Cam Smith as not made a decision and Bellamy only has a year to go. It is a long way from friends and family and there is a huge amount of uncertainty.

Asking other clubs to trade looks like a desperate attempt to pressure a high level player to sign when everything else has failed.

This is the reason the game is losing fans if true... The rich just get richer and the NRL main body don't give a rats..
If you look through that Souths squad there is about 12+ rep players and it blows my mind how they fit under the cap without some sort of cheating... I don't want to hear the same " we need to be better spill" as I understand we do but the game itself needs to take some responsibility to develop an even comp. South in the last few years have retired Ingles (Playing again next year) , Burgess (Had them injuries before they resigned him on big money and not to mention the so called abuse and drugs that come in the media lately and has disappeared under the carpet), Apparently James Roberts is just going to leave with no pay as its the Right thing to do for the club and that frees up more money... Yeh right, a Player is going to give up 550k for the love of it...
I will say in JAC defence though I cannot blame him if he picks them over us as he is guaranteed top 8 and smaller wage but benefits on the side for years to come.
Anyway my rant is over but had to get it off my chest.. As they say... Onwards and upwards now
