the HOA presumably then kicks in and he signs with us

That's not how a heads of agreement works. It's totally non binding - it's just a recognition of points on which two parties are agreed. Like, say, "if everything else works out on this move we agree to pay rent of X for Y years". There's nothing enforceable about it - it just establishes that negotiations have progressed to the point where certain key terms have been agreed.

Its time we re located to Kings Cross
Because we sure know how to get screwed
We were played
No doubt about it

I can see what is going to happen now
We will spend all of our cap and presto
Addo-Carr all of a sudden signs with souths Because we have no money left in our cap

Addo Carr. Latrell, Matterson, Cleary, Moses and even Packer and Reynolds have, and continue to laugh, at Wests Tigers. Wake up Pascoe and Co, and stop Wests Tigers slide towards becoming known as the pits of the NRL. Respect is worth much more than money even though the club isn't rollng in that either.

Well there are 7 players that have great respect.

I would put forward, in real terms, we have more respect than them.

It's understood Addo-Carr has vowed to honour the heads of agreement he signed with the Wests Tigers to join the club in 2021 if he is released from the Storm, however it appears he won't be departing the premiers just yet.

Gets me thinking hey?

Understand, so why would he not sign a contract from 2022 to show Storm he is serious and cut all the media rumours out.. For me if he really wants to come here its a no brainer he signs now for 2022.. He wants elsewhere like Souths and if he didn't have the HOA with us he would be meeting with Souths to lock it up..

He hasn’t signed here for ‘22 because he doesn’t want to be here.

At some point he wanted to come here but things seemed to shift when Barrett got the job at the Bulldogs and an mega bucks to spend

Is that the club putting a positive spin on it? Like “He was going to come, but it’s Melbourne’s fault for not releasing him”. That angle falls flat when you just announce his signing for 2022 first.

Are we going to put out statements for every missed target now? Talk about amateur hour.

Well, look at the Chairman. Should be an Italian mobster. Seems to put the kiss of death on everything.

At least we didn't put a dingo's head in JAC's bed. That would have been a mistake.

Flipside and saga continues!

Meeting actually went well. Tartak confirms to WT that they intend to sign but Storm won’t budge on a decent player swap.

Tigers stick to their guns and draft a plan to make Melbourne look heartless...

Tigers release a press statement pointing the blame completely at Melbourne for refusing to let JAC leave on compassionate grounds. Everyone knows it was “family reasons”....

Melbourne don’t want to look like tools and release Addo-Carr for ‘21....

Fastest man in league races into Concord....

Or am I totally tripping balls here?

I hope your right. But the mail I got a few days ago was he doesn’t want to come here and he is trying to get out of his HOA. That’s what the meeting was about.

I can’t fault the club here. They met his asking price. They gave the opportunity to play fullback and they got him to sign a HOA. If he was genuine about coming here he would have signed for 2022 and told everyone he wants to be in 2021 and it’s on Melbourne. He didn’t, which pretty much says he’s going somewhere else.

Sorry @tigertye - you’re delusional.

We have dodged a bullet here. He does not want to come so better to know now.

For God’s sake - give our youth a go next year and buy up big for 2022. And that means avoid Mansour like the plague.

You’re tripping balls, it will read more like the Wests Tigers fail to land a gun player, yet again, despite offering more money and the chance to be near family.

I don’t blame the club for this at all. For all intents and purposes they got their man.

They can’t control backflips. Don’t believe this Storm not releasing him thing for one second. JAC has 100% backflipped and I would stake my life that he’ll be at South’s in 2022.

Offical Wests Tigers statement on Josh Addo-Carr

Wests TigersThu 12 Nov 2020, 06:54 PM
Wests Tigers have released the following media statement as there has been much speculation and reporting concerning Josh Addo-Carr and the club.

Addo-Carr is a player currently contracted to the Melbourne Storm for season 2021. Having asked for a release from his contract to return to Sydney on compassionate grounds, Wests Tigers — with permission of the Melbourne Storm — entered into discussions with Josh.

This resulted in an execution of a Heads of Agreement which provided for Addo-Carr joining Wests Tigers in 2021. This agreement was only activated upon the release of Addo-Carr from his current playing contract.

Wests Tigers have tonight been advised by the Melbourne Storm that Addo-Carr will not be granted a release.

Wests Tigers recognise and respect the current contractual arrangements in place between Josh Addo-Carr and Melbourne, and would not seek to interfere in same.

So we wouldn’t stump a player swap and Melbourne wouldn’t release.

Honestly would prefer Saab, Laurie and Burton. All young and fit our trajectory better... two to three years of being in the mix

JAC is praying 🧎 that Melbourne does not get a swap IMO!
