The Sharks supposedly offered Burton $620,000, doubt he went to the Dogs for less.

Published in the Terrorgraph
"As first revealed by The Daily Telegraph online yesterday, Burton has penned a two-year deal from 2022 with an option in his favour for a third season. Penrith were never a chance to match the Bulldogs and the Sharks offers - who also offered Burton a deal of close to $620,000 a season."

The young Bulldogs 5/8 Jake Averillo is a really fine talent. He must be disappointed and maybe looking for an opportunity?

Said before we should have went after him. Got in his ear about the Dogs pursuit of Burton having already signed Flanno.
In the end 3 into 2 won't go and one of them will end up in reserve grade looking for a release. It would be safe to assume Burton doesn't want to play backrow so you would think between Wakeham, Averillo and Burton, somebody will end up very unhappy there.

Some article on DT apparently that manager and him are trying to get JAC to souths this year or definitely 2022 apparently he is happy to play wing surprise surprise
can anyone post the article
Will Addo-Carr pull a rabbit out of his hat

hmmmm, tell crowe/ souffs that we'll cancel the '21 MoU for 3 or 4 hundred grand...
We know he's not coming to us regardless & we have Laurie for '22 anyway.

I am sink of all the lies that appear to have come from the JAC camp. I am sure that he always just had one club in mind.

It is apparent that JAC was merely testing the waters as to his worth and just like LM will take less money to play with his mates at Souths, the extra time given JAC not coming to Sydney in 2021 will enable the Bunnies to move on player(s) to accommodate JAC.

He was always looking at Souths.

And he is versatile and kicks goals.

Fine talent but kicks goals is generous. Only saw him take a handful and he shanked half of them. From what we’ve seen Momo and Doueihi are way in front.

Yep and we better not get sucked in for round 2 all over again. I like to think the club is now being managed better than that.

It's pretty clear he's a complete liar. As good as he is, he doesn't deserve the love he gets on here.

I will say this again, the fullback thing was blown way out of proportion. Was never, ever a deciding factor.

I will also say, like I have said from the beginning, it was always Souths. Always.

Testing the waters? Profile raising? Mixed with a little ego stroking , perhaps? Pleased we didn’t go week in the knees over the Fox. It doesn’t cost much for a free valuation while we’re seriously working away in the background to sign a much better FB option with stronger defence.
I have a feeling we’re finals bound in 21 with a stronger team in 22.

I doubt the Storm are going to let him go, the MOU was only good for next season, (why let him go?) so he's ours if he leaves the Storm.

Sick of hearing about JAC ,its like someone had their heart broken and won;t get over it,sob, sob' HE was never going to come here,he is part of the Souths shooting team.

My personal opinion Bennett will go hard for what he wants. It’s his last year at Souths isn’t it. He won’t be looking to leave a legacy at Souths

He'll go to Souths. 100%. It makes so much sense with the brotherhood at Redfern.

Thought I heard he played for La Parouse as a junior. That's in South's heartland also. I believe he will be wearing red and green in 22 and he's now using the dogs to drive up his price, just like he used us.

The brotherhood is much bigger than the NRL...JAC ,LM all know how to manipulate things for their own benefit...I said much earlier in this thread that he wanted to go to Souths, and my reasons are as follows....
1.commpassionate grounds the first step to get to Sydney...
2.talks with the Tigers a sign of him wanting to join us was just a ploy(he left here originally on bad terms)
3.Souths starting to move on players to make way for JAC but couldnt for season 2021(hence he said he could stay in Melb one more year.)so much for family compassion..
The people that were enveloped into the JAC rumour were played just as the club was by the manager of JAC...
