Madge, as soon as he heard JAC's asking price - "What's Alex Johnston's number again?"

I’ve been saying that for a while. Johnston is much cheaper and more value particularly if the 800k thing is true.

Surely it can't be true. That's an outrageous asking price.

I'd luv to know how much the current highest payed winger is earning. It's frustrating having no comparison to determine value. NRL is the only professional sport league I know of that doesn't disclose player contract figures

But who says it's 800k? Which journo, and based on what? Seems incredibly unlikely that he thinks he can almost triple his salary

So Bellamy wants Tommy Talu in return....”get stuffed”...take Jennings or nothing.....

Addo carr plays right wing at Melbourne
A trade for Nofoaluma could work
It would probably still leave us with enough money for Stains as well
They both want fullback, they can fight it out with each other
Winner gets the fullback spot
The other gets the wing spot
Fail at fullback and go back to the wing

Why are we trading?

Why would we trade a player who has scored more tries this year than JAC?

That's interesting. At $400-450k I'd say Nofo is better value than any of those wingers and on current form considerably better value than AD given I think he could perform just as well as AD at fullback if required.

I am sure when Doueihi signed it averaged out at $550k per annum over 4 years after top ups paid by the bunnies.

Hooper reported $2.5m over four years. It was laughed at by the club.

Nicolussi reported in the SMH that is was $1.8m over 4 years - an average of $450k pa. CCTW, who has inside info, reported that that figure was spot on.

Addo Carr plays on the left and you wouldn't trade any of our outside backs to get him imo...bar Mbye

My mistake
He is on the left wing
Yes the game against Parramatta shows he is no instant mr fix it
Stains to fullback looks a better prospect and will save us some $ we could use elsewhere

What's that old saying
Defence wins matches
You can score 20 tries in a season
But if you let 30 in what's the point
David Nofoaluma has played well in attack this year
But its his defence that constantly lets him down
You can blame his inside men but in my eyes he appears to come in off his wing way to much
And he rarely contests the ball on a kick
Its frustrating to watch

JAC is left wing. Saab is right wing.

Nofoaluma has had a great year in attack. It is not beyond the realm of possibilities that he will receive attractive offers from other clubs. As he has been well paid in his contract the Club may be planning with Saab to avoid a bidding war which is what we all want?

Let the Dogs take Addo-Carr if that's what he wants and then grab DWZ with them paying some of his freight. DWZ on $400k a year paid exclusively on the wing would be good. He was an incredible winger until he thought he was a fullback.

The Club liaison confirmed in his post JAC and Saab are the targets, both not one.

JAC poses a huge threat for defences. Gould mentions it just about every game he commentates on involving the Storm. Saab is 6ft6in and is quick.

No lack of respect to DWZ, but let the Bulldogs have him.

Nofo isn't great under the high ball, wouldn't want him playing fullback too often IMO. Great ball runner though.

Man these comments frustrate me. It happens to every winger in the Nrl. Its Rugby League 101. Stack 1 side in attack and catch the defence with an overlap. Inevitably the winger gets caught coming in.

Blokes have been burning their opposite wingers down the flank for 100 years. Pretty sure most tries are still scored close to the corner. No doubt there are times he could stay out wider, but seriously have a look at every other team and winger. He's not on his post malone

Yep just read the other thread now and assuming the number for JAC is more reasonable than $800k, I'll be happy.

Happy with Saab too given his potential, though not sure how it willw ork unless we're deadset on playing JAC at FB.

Imo the Club will develop Saab under Maguire's tutelage. Depending on his rate of progression, it may well be the Club allows Nofoaluma to explore interest from other clubs. It looks as though we have forward planning underway, which is a significant improvement for roster management. Similar to how the Roosters'. operate.

I’m all for JAC ,at the right price
Let’s pay 650 for a winger who ‘wants to play fullback’
Didn’t contest once against Ferguson last night got folded every hit up he took out of his own half.
He is an amazing winger, but he needs good ball
Our team is not going to give it to him
I think we can all see that.
Yeah want him in our squad I just don’t want to pay him ‘fullback money’ for everyone to asking for his head when we still fail to make the 8

depends on who plays 5/8 if its Doueihi he will get a lot of good ball
have you seen his passing game ?
