Far out. The media is doing all it can to try to sway JAC to sign with the Dogs. How about an article about how pathetic the Dogs are from the Board down to the 2nd last placed football team? At least this information is current, rather than citing our recruitment issues pre Madge and Hartigan. If you want to go back to the past then cite how useless Barrett was as a coach overseeing a culture of infighting. How he makes a great assistant coach ala Jason Taylor, but will never see success as a head coach due to his incompetence as a man manager.

“ THE FOXX FAVOURING BULLDOGS OVER TIGERS RETURN
The Bulldogs are the favourite to land the signature of wantaway Storm winger Josh Addo-Carr for next season and beyond.
The NSW and Kangaroos winger is desperate to return to Sydney for family reasons and wants to play fullback and James Hooper believes the Belmore club has the upper hand in the hunt for his services.
“It is out of Canterbury and the Tigers, but I think he is leaning towards joining Trent Barrett at the Bulldogs,” Hooper said on Triple M’s Origin Rumble.
“I think that Trent is considering him and looking at playing him in the fullback role.
“The Tigers certainly thought they were holding all the aces, but as it has transpired over the course of the last six weeks I think it is more leaning towards Josh going to Belmore.”
Wendell Sailor pointed out it was a cruel twist of irony for the Tigers, who let Addo-Carr go to join the Storm in 2016 where he went on to become a representative star and premiership winner.
“Do you remember when Josh Addo-Carr was at the Tigers and talking to other clubs and I said to then coach Jason Taylor are you disappointed about losing Josh Addo-Carr?” Sailor recalled. “And he said, no not really.”
“The Tigers don’t get me started with their recruitment and retention policy over the course of the last 10 years,” Hooper fumed.
“From James Tedesco to Ryan Papenhuyzen to Josh Addo-Carr. Mitchell Moses is at Parramatta now. Aaron Woods should never have left.
“It has just been one bad decision after another and a big part of that has been the constant revolving door around coaches.

If Hooper is right, and we lose out to the Dogs, serious questions need to be asked about why we keep missing our targets, and why quality players keep bypassing us, I hope Hooper is full of it, but I am accustomed to left overs in regards to signings

Re: JAC
Trent Barrett on Triple M today said it was a complicated one and didn't think it wo uuld be resolved anytime soon.
Didn't sound that confident.
Not sure how it's complicated when he can sign on for 2022 next week.
Surely things fall into place after that.

Its JAC... whoever he joins wants he wants then to sign him for next season not the one after. This means player swap has to happen. For that to happen the other player has to agree and has to be wanted by the Storm.

We can offer him a deal for 2022 but thats not what JAC wants. The storm also wouldn’t have an issue with him playing another year for them (they did it this year).

It’s not about money hence why it's complicated

Surely JAC has signed somewhere... The Storm is a professional outfit and will not be paying a player salary (from Nov 1) if he does intend to leave.

That wouldn't come into it at all.

If they want a replacement, getting what they want is more important than paying a couple weeks salary. Our management was very weak for using this as a reason not to negotiate a swap for Matto.

Melbourne wanted Nofo we said No and Talau we said no
we have nobody left they want unfortunately

The club only has itself to blame for all the negative press.

You'd think every recruitment decision from this point onwards needs to be spot on. Otherwise, heads will roll and somebody will be held accountable.

If we miss JAC(looks likely now unfortunately) then they can't make the desperate move of signing the next best available. Stay on track with signing elite juniors and use the cap wisely for once.

On the dogs recruitment, yes they're buying a nice roster on paper, but paying overs for outside talent rarely works out. They've made this mistake several times already and don't seem to be learning from it. Their depth is still the worst in the comp...

If he does go to Dogs I would be curious as to why. We can seemingly offer him just as good money, maybe a little worse, but what’s swaying his decision? His past experiences at the club? Not a fan of Madge? Thinks our club is crap? We need to figure out why someone like him wouldn’t want to be here and fix it. The obvious answer is our results but problem is we can’t get results unless we sign better players 😂

Dogs might be offering one day off training per week to go shooting up at the farm. Can't match that, Madge wouldn't allow it...

This is good news. We don’t have the cap space to take the chance on a converted fullback at 750k a year. Losing young players on peanuts like Talau who is a starter is a double blow as you can’t replace him for the same money.

If true I would be trying to get Nick Meaney hugely underrated player. Treated poorly at the Dogs he’s the best fullback at the club.

Money pure and simple.

Or

Bulldogs are selling him a bright future with the money they are prepared to spend to achieve premiership success. Their new sponsor is splashing cash.

We can sell the pics of a centre of excellence and juniors coming through. No instant success.will take time.

The word is Dogs have offered us DWZ heavily subsidised. Tigers won’t bite until Fox makes a call. Madge believes he can get back to a rep level fullback. It’s the smart play although he was bad last year.

We might need to pay slight overs on this one just to break the ducks back, so to speak.

I really hope we're talking to Teddy as of tomorrow. Bringing him home would stop all the media haters. Give him 5 years. Might be enough to persuade him.

Probably not, but lets at least have a crack.

Imagine bagging the tigers for not paying Aaron woods 1 mil a year. Seriously , what the actual

Also just another tidbit. Isaac Moses has huge claws in the broncos and warriors, both either having a news limited influence or part ownership. That can’t be a coincidence considering some of the players mentioned , as losses

Strange one that. He was a rep player here, then ceased to be one after he left.
Hoops needs a week in concussion protocol

Well he has been moved on from two clubs. If our club can't take the hint we deserve everything we get.

DwZ had his chance with us and picked dogs and can’t even play the ball in the right direction, DwZ would be another great big step backwards

Why don’t tigers offer nofo on a one year swap deal all parties win and nofo gets to play some finals

Nah - he wasn't just bad last year he was embarrassing. He had one decent year at Penrith and thought he was better than he was. Hope we go no where near him especially if it allows them to fit JAC in their cap.

I’m not keen on it but I’m not keen on anyone unless it’s a young player that’s a gun or a rep player Not changing positions.
