I hope we sign him ASAP...he is the perfect example of a man that realised his faults and worked hard to become a better person ...A breathe of fresh air to this stench of a club that has wallowed in its own glory for far to long...Hastings is a genuine model for the juniors to look up to...

That's his plan all along. He made it quite clear to the specialists that their estimation of recovery time was not fitting into his world cup plans.
He wants to show case his talents playing in a better team thus increasing his worth.

Hastings needs to be re signed , he just brings determination , and with a pack Sheens is putting together it could be a very good season for improvement , if we do get Klemmer and Bateman and you add , Pappi , Appi , Steph , Pole Twal , Blore that’s a go forward pack , last year we were dominated every week , Brooks could even shine , Hastings at Half , Brooks 5/8 , and these boys up front and Appi with some darting runs , it could be very good

I think its more simple than that & doubt Hastings, Brooks and AD move to another club in 23 unless its a crucial player gain (one Benji wants into his 1st year) or a replacement for the halves for 23 is signed up.
We have roster spots free & we have salary cap space - we don't need to let anyone go. Of the players we have mention Klemmer, Leniu, Frizell etc they are all off contract in 24 anyway so if we really wanted them beyond 23 we could sign them past that.
For 24, it would surprise me if Sheens is waiting till Jan/Feb on Brooks given how vocal Sheens has been about wanting Brooks here. Not many coaches are that vocal about players like Sheens has been for Brooks. He has been very direct on the topic as well.
The only reason we would wait to close out a deal with Brooks/AD/Hastings is either they want it delayed to see how pre-season training shapes them structure/position wise or we are waiting on Moses & some other high profile halves on the hit list decisions - if they don't come then we fall back to those. Right now it's high risk scenario we are in but that's why when you're at the bottom it's never fast to go from last to being a contender.
