Hope Simpkin can fill the shoes and make it in the NRL...Jacob will have to become a very solid 80 min player to even be considered as an NRL week to week hooker/dh...

He made over 50 tackles, Brooks & Mbye didn’t exactly provide him with any options.

When he wanted to speed the play up it was a forward or no one.

Our halves cost us the game today.

His service today was below average and a few costly forward passes. I reckon we need to bring simkins in and give him a crack at the 9. Ud think being liddles first game of the season where he can make the 9 his own he would have had an absolute cracker. Give simpkin a crack to make it his own hes young and he will put it all on the line

Some guys show so much promise in the U20s and then simply don’t make it in the first grade. This doesn’t stop us persisting with them.
Smart management knows when to hold them and when to fold them.

Congrats to him for getting through 80. That's a big accomplishment given what he's been through.

The disappointing part for me is how reluctant he was to take on the line. If you're not confident to do that, good luck at NRL level as a hooker.

It's a hard test to come up against Raiders and Roosters in a return from long-term injury so let's see how he goes over the course of a season when he can build more confidence. But a very clear downgrade on Grant.

Needs a sub to take pressure off him.
