Thought Liddle looked good today. I'd be keeping both he and MM in the 17 all year as I believe there isn't enough depth to justify an extra prop or second rower at this time. We looked good when attacking the ruck and think we should stick to this .

He's definitely first grade level right now and I'll be amazed if he isn't a rep player in the next few years. I just hope we can hang on to him long term.

More impressed by his defence than his running game at the moment. Thought he was good without being great tonight, quite a few sloppy passes in the second half, though hopefully that was just fatigue and not bad habits. That said, his pass in the lead up to Kev's try was top shelf. Worth persisting with a 40/40 split with McIlwrick for this season while we're no chance I think

Totally agree, we only ever look good when we play up tempo through the middle with players pushing up around the ball. Whenever we put a play on with Teddy out the back, the defense reads it too easy and just pressures him and most of the time he's taking the pass while bracing for the collision or getting the ball and having to stop dead and change direction and come back infield and the play breaks down, that's pretty much all we have in attack and for it to work our execution needs to be perfect and it's usually not.

Good player, some passes went astray during the match due to lack of concentration or fatigue….he should also back himself more in attack esp with his speed....this will grow in confidence....decent rolling forward pack and this kid will kill it.

As other have said, our tempo our game speed seems to go up a gear when he is on the field. I would keep him in tandem with Maca till about this time next year and than re asses the situation. By that time he should be nearly a 80min no9 and that will gives a better bench rotation. I personally think he will be a gun and a future long term captain of the club

After watching Matulino and Packer this weekend throwing some nice offloads I think this kid will really shine off the back of them as they really damage the line and with Packers super quick play the balls.

I have a left-field suggestion: play MMc as a backrower once he's done his stint at hooker. Lovett tried really hard yesterday but his running game is ineffective and his defence is alright without being in any way dominant.
Could you play MMc at hooker to start, sub Liddle at 20, then bring back MMc last 40 as defensive backrower. Tell him to tackle his guts out and hurt people.
You don't then need to carry Lovett, whose runs are custard anyway, and you still have a backup hooker if Liddle goes down.

Jacob Liddle extends contract with Wests Tigers

Wests Tigers are pleased to announce that Jacob Liddle has extended his playing contract for a further season, securing him at the Club until at least the end of 2019.
Liddle was already under contract for the 2018 season, and has signed a one-year contract extension to keep him in Wests Tigers colours for the next two seasons.
A former Australian Schoolboy, Liddle was a standout in the Club’s Holden Cup side throughout 2015 and 2016 — awarded the Club’s NYC Player’s Player award in 2015 before being selected in the New South Wales U/20’s squad the following year.
Going on to make his memorable first-grade debut later in 2016 against the Bulldogs, the Wyong Roos junior has featured in eight games for Ivan Cleary’s side so far in 2017.
Liddle said that he was looking forward to continuing his development with Wests Tigers.
“I’m really excited for the opportunity that Wests Tigers has given me, the club has given me the chance to develop my game both on and off the field,” said Liddle.
“Wests Tigers are a great club and the future is bright here, we’ve got a lot of players coming in and a lot who have helped me develop as I’ve come through the grades.
“It’s a nice feeling to have the security, it takes the pressure off and allows me to focus on my game as a player and to continue to develop,” he said.
Wests Tigers Head Coach Ivan Cleary welcomed Liddle’s contract extension with the club.
“Jacob is a talented kid who puts the team before himself,” said Cleary. “We look forward to Jacob being an influential player in the long-term future of Wests Tigers.”
Wests Tigers CEO Justin Pascoe said that he looked forward to working with Jacob into the future.
“Jacob is an impressive young man who is developing well both on and off the field,” said Pascoe. “We look forward to seeing him take the next step in his career over the coming seasons.”
