Im a Liddle fan.

Great attitude, works hard in a beaten team.

To many people want instant gratification with everything.

Give him some more time.

He has played 64 games in 6 years
You know what you get with him and it is not 80 mins
Get am experienced hooker in to work with simpkin

Neither was cook but developed into one behind a big effective pack. Liddle hasn’t had such a luxury!

Liddle will never be a Damian Cook

Does anyone think Simpkin is ready for 80 mins?

Not yet. We’d need a new hooker as well if Liddle was to move on for next season. I think Simpkin will surpass him next year.

Right, so why would we be so keen to get rid of Liddle then? Cutting off your nose to spite your face.

You’ll have to ask the ones pushing for it to happen ASAP.

Yea its interesting - everyone who wants to punt him can't or won't come up with a replacement for him that will step in and play 80 mins next season. Their best effort at doing so is to lament missing out on Hodgson or making a play for Api who is under contract until the end of next season, neither of which is likely to happen.

Hopefully Madge adopts a pick and stick approach for the spine, regardless of their form

I want Madge to experiment and adapt as required. For instance I don't think a Liddle/Peachey dummy half combination is good enough. I think Peachey will be required as a ball playing lock or to slot into an edge at times. I think we need Simpkin or another hooker on the bench.

Liddle couldn't give us consistent good quality footy over 40 minute slots at best last season.

Brooks/Hastings/Doueihi need to fight it out for halves spots.

I understand your reasoning, but let me ask?
During the last 3 seasons from Madge’s experimenting, what have we learned?
I say let players become established in their position, give them time to develop their game and combinations, then if a better player in that position comes along, whether it’s from inside or outside, then go hard for the change.

I hope to see him preform better this year.

The fact is he couldn’t play the whole 80, I’d prefer Simpkins coming off the bench.

Although if we see him get fit this pre-season and not big and bulky, then we may see him fire.

Liddle is in the Cook type model, fast and usually good service from dummy half. Not the Cameron Smith type player, tempo and game controller. Please people compare apples with apples.
I believe as stated before his passing and timing will improve this year, as he gets more used to his guns. If Madge learns how to use his bench more effectively?!?!?!

I'm sorry, he's not a candle on Cook for speed and Lids service is his biggest weakness (bigger weakness than his stamina)

we can see how this story goes someone will pinch Simpkin and he will go on to greatness meanwhile we keep Liddle

If we had an 70-80 minute Hooker. It wouldn’t be worth having Simpkin taking up a bench spot. You’d slot a utility player in to play low minutes at DH and cover injuries. And Simpkin would be in reserve grade.
Now that we aren’t getting Hodgson or Api. To keep Simpkin and find out if he is going to make it at NRL level. You’d play him off the bench and increase his minutes. With Liddle starting.

I am confident Simpkin knows the plan for him and that he will build up to being the main hooker by the end of the season. I’d also guess that Liddle is aware of what is going on and it is one the the reasons he wants out

Correct. And the same people who bag his passing think AD is the second coming and the bloke has one left to right pass in him per game. For all the AD fans, Liddle is a better passer of the football, a much better defender and can make a break and sprint to score. And I like AD as a centre, I think he's going to be great for us but he doesn't get the same hate as Liddle.

How many shoulder reconstructions did Benji have

Least Benji could pass and kick a ball..

Yes. Was dangerous sitting in the first 3 rows

unless it was a penalty kick for touch....found the field more times than I like to remember....

right now losing liddle would make our team worse. get a better pack moving forward and watch him improve

I like him, but I'd be happy to offload him too

However 2021 was his first full season, so hopefully he's all the better for it. His length of the field try v panthers was one of my fave moments of the year

Based on what?? Did u watch Cook when he played for the dogs?? I bet u didn’t, I did and he was very similar to liddle, except liddle had a better passing game! Cook was erratic, inconsistent and only came on for short bursts. Was considered a one trick pony, being his speed! He was lucky to get twenty minute a game.
Don’t come on here claiming to know everything about cook. Do u think he was a state of origin player, out of the rapper?
Please....

No offence, but your just a liddle hater as well as brooks. That’s your go too.
Your hardly a fair and well considered judge of liddles abilities.
I am just saying that he is in a similar mold to Cook rather than Smith type, don’t let your hatred cloud good judgement!

Cook can still throw a brick in the big games....
And he's the best hooker in the country (Apparently)
