Jahream Bula #269

The right money for Bula is 700k a season. He has potential to be great. Tigers let any player of decent calibre hit the market they are gone. He will take less to play for a finals side it’s that simple. Tough call this one.

No fullback in the modern game you are in deep trouble.

Remember the good old days when these morons claimed we are a development club?
What’s happened to all these kids people have been raving about for years?
The truth of the matter is that Jahream is too good for this club.
When he doesn’t play the squad looks dreadful. When he plays they are usually a chance.
Terrell doesn’t make this group a competitive team…neither does Luai, AD, the Fainu’s or Turuva.
Bula does.
We cannot let him go.

Stop it, I’m almost getting sentimental and wishing him well at a better performing club like when Tedesco signed with the Chooks. We aren’t that club / group of fans anymore though. I want the best to be with us not delivering on their potential elsewhere.

Management has been telling us for a while now that we had outstanding juniors and talent coming through who we were going to build a 10+ year nucleus with.
The three names at the pointy end were Bula, Galvin and DaSilva. They were to hopefully be joined by the likes of the Laulii’s, Large’s, Fainus, Mason and others.
With the exception of the Fainu brothers, it isn’t happening. We’ve supposedly brought all these experienced boys here to help prepare this next generation. These opportunities are being missed.
We are now back to talking up 17/18 year olds….blokes like Makasini and Godinet are the new saviours. Let’s grab some popcorn and see how this works out….

I believe there are two clauses for 2027:

1. In tigers favour - Bula gets paid 900k
2. In bula favour - Bula gets paid 800k

I think these expire November 1, meaning that if bula goes to market, then his contract with us technically ends 2026 and a new contract will need to be negotiated for 2027 onward...

My guess is bula will extend for 2027 at 800k and that this is just a play by Moses to scare the tigers into the 900k deal.

In saying that, i think if he hasnt signed before November 1 then hes probably out of here.

Richo said he is worth the upgrade, based on how he was playing before his injury. Ive expected the upgrade in Bula's favor to be taken up since then, and I agree with you that its just a bit of shithousery from Moses. A flex and a shot across the bow. I'd be very very surprised if he leaves, and I really don't think discussions over 11odd% wages here or there would be the decisive factor.

Tucker I assume you have seen quite a bit of Jaxon Purdue and AJ Brimson play?
Tell me what Bula can do that either of those 2 cannot do and much more ?
Purdue is 12 months away from being every bit as good and influential as Reece Walsh and AJ is freak who can single handedly win games for his team on a regular basis.
I know the Cowboys will be desperate to hold onto Purdue, but he will have numerous NRL clubs offering and willing to pay him 1 million per season for 2027 and beyond, we would be as good a chance as any if we had that cash to splash around.
AJ has openly stated he wants out of the Titans if they plan to play him in the centres which was indicated tj him by their incoming coach Josh Hannay.
However if Jahream is happy to stick with us for a couple of years at 800k I would be happy to stick with him.

His daughter is Jahream’s partner/wife.
She was not retained for 2026, so unwanted, sacked, whatever you want to call it.
Guess this is the reason he will leave , not because of Moses

Club is playing with fire , may brothers , fainu bros etc .. piss one family member off the others will follow

Looks like Moses will end up having his tentacles all over the dogs .. can’t wait for him to destroy them too
