OFFICIAL Jahream Bula #269

Just watched the CH9 Sunday Footy Show - they announced the DW report re Bula signing. All very positive blah blash blah but then Billy Slater adds - "Yes, I picked the injury when it happened cos I did the same thing landing on the same spot and was out for a while. He may even be out for the season" (paraphrased folks). Well, maybe not a big deal given that Coach Benji went thru 5 recos in a 100-year career. 🐯 😂💪

The source who told me earlier in the week that Terrel and Taylan were both done, and that Tyrone would be coming in due course, which I posted somewhere on this forum, told me that Bula was out the door.

Bula is a good player and we are a better team with him in it.

However, he is not a compete player and I don’t know how much improvement he has in him. He has a slight frame and thus not much power when he runs. Also, his acceleration is only average for a guy who is very fast over longer distances. He is already 24/25, not 20. He is almost at the point, IMO, that he is who he is by now.

And He’s not worth $900k IMO.

If he is leaving, I would exercise the option for 2027 for a further year. That way we have him for another year, or we can try and get a player from the Bulldogs to release him early (one of their good juniors). The Bulldogs strategy is to sign him after 1 November (if we exercise the option) and then agitate for an early release so they have him for 2027. Isaac and Gus are well versed in this, as we know. Having Bula for 2027 will also allow Attard and Brookes another year of development.

With the team doing well and the May brothers getting the first upgrades and extensions, we need to be careful about overpaying for Bula or anyone otherwise players will get squeezed out. Fullback has become one of the easier positions to replace. Whilst I’d prefer to keep Bula, it seems he’s gone but it’s not all doom and gloom if he goes IMO.

One out of two ain’t bad Wiz … better than a lot of sources here 👍

And what are the up-and-coming fullbacks' thoughts on hanging on? eg. Brookes, Attard etc.
Hate to lose Logan Brookes whose contract is up this year I believe.
Yep, mentioned the same thing, earlier in this thread. He looked totally at home in the preseason trial and has played a starring role in Flegg this year. Actually, I watched a highlights video of Brookes and he really looks like a potential gamebreaker. On top of that, he is a natural talker. All good things. It's be a great pity to lose him. Think he should be kept and developed as a potential winger or centre now that Bula has extended.

What’s the official word to date on the injury ? I heard another earlier rumour that it was potentially season ending which I dismissed ? I thought they were saying like 3 games ?

The Gould creamy comment was clearly trolling Tigers fans, wot a total loser - truly an infantile mentality.

The trolling fun is for us as we watch the Dogs slide and he gets the can.

Message to Gould - when you start listening to fans, you'll soon join them.
Jus picture ol Pus the other night as th e player he booted Reed Mahoney tore his team apart....beauuutiful

While we’re all looking at everything in hindsight, here’s another one. It’s probably been a good month or two since he told the Dogs he wasn’t interested, hence why they re-signed Tracey. Never made sense that they would re-sign their fullback if they were still trying to sign another one. And why would have Tracey wanted to stay in that if were trying to sign someone else?

This does seem a bit odd - I kind of think that if it's season ending, then perhaps that was the key to getting the signing done asap for Moses, cos his value would have diminished overnight.

Yeah … could be a downer if that’s the case …having said that ..Moses could have just picked up the player option anyway ..and elected to get the surgery now …

I think Beni knew at Laui’s presser that we had the May brothers and Bula signed. Makes the smug comment at Read even better. We have come out of this extremely well already. If we jag the fainus signatures soon we have an arguable premiership window. Would love Turuva as well.

Few people earlier speculating the whole thing has been orchestrated by the club including Luai moving on to PNG ( obviously he was agreeable to it) … makes a change if true

Always thought Tracey wld replace Xerri tbh..leaving a place for Bula

And Pat Richards, been in the job for a month or more now but it was only noted last week
Great work to all concerened.....talk about turning a negative into a massive positive
Richards imo has respect among the players and also in the NRL generally. Importantly, I feel he and Marshall work well together. They are in sync in a increasingly competitive market.

Here's a theory ... Luai's move has been on the cards all year and maybe longer. The bosses at WT knew about it but kept it under wraps until he signed. That opened the door for the Mays to re-sign and now Bula. No Moses conspiracy just smart leadership and cap smarts from Benji and co. What do you think?
I suggested basically the same thing earlier.
Its great work if true.
Basically all this news in under a week...cannot be coincidental.
Shows a professionalism not seen at the club for a long time if ever
