Particularly this guy with Redcliffe on the horizon

Remember Grant come to us at 23 after being in the Intrust Cup, still a few years for this young bloke to learn his trade, and Farah would be of great value to him.

Simpkin has shown a lot at such a young age.

I agree with GNRs statement, he's "meat and potatoes".

Bit more time in grade and some more influence from Farah and... possibly... Josh Hodgson or even Api Korosau... and we'll see him develope well.

Big future and a higher ceiling than Jacob Liddle, in my opinion.

I think the club agrees. It's why they are looking to bring in a relatively short term solution to play hooker while he continues to develop. Liddle was very disappointing this season, he's not good enough.

TIGERS - Jake Simpkin

Dummyhalf Jake Simpkin scored two tries to go with two linebreaks, nine tackle busts and a try assist in his nine games in his rookie season in 2021.

The 20-year-old hooker has been earmarked as the Tigers’ long-term hooker and is signed until the end of 2024.

He will fight with Jacob Liddle and potentially Josh Hodgson for the starting hooker role, but he should get plenty of game time off the bench.

Simpkin has all the skills and will benefit from another tough pre-season and he looks set to play a big role for the Tigers in 2022.

His game including his service is too inconsistent especially over 80 minutes. When he is playing well he is decent but that lasts for 10-20 minute periods at the moment.

Good young player. Let's hope he is given the opportunity to learn his trade in the NSW Cup. I'm glad he is signed past 2022.

Both Liddle and Simpkin should be given our full support,both are still learning with Liddle the better of the 2 at this stage.I am comfortable with Api coming and helping them both
