James Tedesco Signs with Roosters [Official]

A whisper that the Rorters have hit a little snag in their offer to Teddy with the NRL knocking back a 'Non-affiliated' TPA..meaning they will have to carry more under the Cap for him..

Unca Nick will not be happy…Isaac Moses is not his favourite guy...just lucky it's not about the money..

Please be true… starting to laugh at the absurdity of all the goings on.

Heard on Saturday from a reasonably reliable source(about 50 %) that Ava will be the next to go.
Kevvie and Grant are just trying to get the club to up their contracts.and who cares anyway.
But Ava wants out .

If only we'd kept Wehbe, everyone would have re-signed?

Jeebus, I wonder who this anonymous "friend" is. Good luck if you think the Roosters will let a "footy whisperer" loiter around the club.

We can assist uncle Nick by taking Mitchell and Watson.

I'm thinking this "friend" may be Wally Wehbe; you know…Joe's brother.

the story today about the reason they were going is more about the club ditching Wehbe.
Sounds more likely than anything else that ive heard

Please!
Just another cop out excuse. I personally respect the fact they want to move on. They have that right obviously, as their contract is up.
Just stop all the rubbish that is circling the club. Surely they realise that Isaac Moses is leaking info to Telegraph. It's time they grew some …... and told their manager enough's enough. Sign...move on....finish the season without the sensationalism.

"I'm leaving because they sacked Joe".....what an embarrassment to those players.....SOFT.

Thanks so angry !

I would honestly sit both players out for the rest of the season starting this week. Don't even let them play reserve grade.

Name them 18th and 19th men every week from now until the end of the season.

Lets see how their origin chances go after that.

I wonder how many steps backwards Woods would take.

Probably wouldn't make a difference for Tedesco. The bloke is a freak. But make a statement.

Stand up for the club, the remaining players and the fans.

We deserve better.

But don't we deserve to see our best team on the paddock every week?
We have nothing to gain from dropping them or letting them go early. Absolutely nothing.

I wouldn't drop them but I'd be looking to move them to their new teams early to leverage some players in return

Send Tedesco to roosters now and get Mitchell or Watson in return or both.

Send woods now for kasiano and Hopoate

I'd keep Moses because parra have nothing of value to Tigers off contract

Kasiano ? are you mad he is flat out playing 30mins

Kasiano is a dud - wouldn't touch the fat slob with a barge pole. Great replacement for woods - Not.

And Hoppa doesn't play on Sundays.

Why would the Rorters release Mitchell / Watson for Tedesco - they have him for next year.

Pie in the sky stuff SG.

Roosters would release Watson because he has a much better offer and chance to play NRL. At present he is stuck behind Keary and Tedesco/Mitchell. Also Geo reports a TPA arranged by the Roosters for Tedesco has not been approved by the NRL. It means more players have to go to fit Tedesco in because more of his money will come from the cap.

If these kids need a head coach to stroke their egos we are better off without them, and why should the club employ their head coach

There is a lot here and else where that think our club is a total basket case but as time passes and the actions of these players are becoming apparent and there demands I am now glad these weak minded individuals will not be part of our club moving forward …the club has done the right thing ..buy us the footy team we deserve Coach Cleary!

Kasiano is far from a dud. He's not an 80 min player but his impact as a bench player is phenomenal

True. A big body which we dont have

I want to be a better player: Yes, the tigers only got you to NSW selection, PMXIII and the verge of test selection.
Taking $700,000 less so I can play with better players: Maybe if you and your selfish mates had done that at the tigers they would have been able to build a stronger team around you.
I don't need the tigers money because I am already rich: You already sound like one of those eastern suburbs tossers. May as well your bags now.

Wests Tigers star James Tedesco sacrificed up to $700,000 to join the Sydney Roosters

DEAN RITCHIE, The Sunday Telegraph
April 23, 2017 6:00am

WESTS Tigers star James Tedesco sacrificed up to $700,000 to join the Sydney Roosters — because he “wants to be the best.”

The Sunday Telegraph can reveal the Roosters’ offer to Tedesco was actually third-best behind Wests Tigers and Canterbury.

Yet Roosters supremo Nick Politis and coach Trent Robinson still got their man.

A desire to play at the powerful Roosters and to “better himself” drove Tedesco — the incumbent NSW fullback — to a new four-year deal at Bondi.

KENT: COFFEE DATE UNDERLINES TIGERS’ TROUBLES

Close friends to Tedesco claim the fullback has never been driven by money and his family are financially well-off through property development and investments in Sydney’s west.

**“Wests Tigers could have offered him $2m a season and he wouldn’t have stayed,”** said a close friend of Tedesco.

**“James always wanted to go to the Roosters.** The Roosters were the lowest offer. It had nothing to do with money — he wants to go there to better himself, to be a better footballer.

“He has this drive to be the best. He just wants to be the best.

“That’s why he is going there. It has nothing to do with money. People make it about money. James doesn’t live by pay cheques. It has to do with how the place is run and how he could better himself.

“When he reneged on Canberra (in 2014), he was told things would improve at Wests Tigers. He should have gone to Canberra.”

NRL TRIPLE SIGNING WINNERS AND LOSERS

The Sunday Telegraph can also reveal:

* Tedesco, Aaron Woods and Mitch Moses were almost certain to re-sign with Wests Tigers six weeks ago until the club sacked life coach Joe Wehbe, who has significant influence over a number of star players.

* Tedesco never signed with Canterbury.

“You have to ask why your captain and best player want to leave?” a friend close to the pair said.

**“All of them were set to re-sign before the Wehbe drama blew-up**. They were all set to sign. How could you stuff it up? All four would have stayed.

“All Wests Tigers had to do was keep Wehbe. They could have signed and gotten rid of him later. But once they got rid of him, that was it.

“That turned everything. ‘Woodsy’ is very tight with him.”

BLAME CLUB, NOT THE PLAYERS

Tedesco was most impressed with Bulldogs coach Des Hasler during negotiations but eventually shifted to the Roosters.

Another source said: “He never backflipped on Canterbury because he never signed there.”

Tedesco has agreed to terms with the Roosters.

There is no doubt Tedesco will flourish at Bondi playing alongside Mitch Pearce, Luke Keary, Michael Gordon, Latrell Mitchell and Blake Ferguson.

Roosters legend and club official Anthony Minichiello will also mentor Tedesco, the pair friends from playing with Italy.

There is continuing speculation that the Roosters may though have to offload Shaun Kenny-Dowall, possibly to Newcastle, to accommodate Tedesco.

Note the highlighted parts of the article. For the three of them, it must be embarrassing because the sniff of petulance is in the air!

Number 1 in play the balls won and top 3 off loads Top 5 tackle breaks and MAC. What's not to like. He is what he is. A bench impact player.
