James Tedesco Signs with Roosters [Official]

The success of the next 5 - 10 years depends on if we keep the three together - Tedesco, Moses and Brooks. As someone here said, Woods is fantastic but a prop is easier to replace than a fullback or half.
Really hope our recent success and the buzz around us at the moment attracts some TPA interest. It'll go a long way to keeping our big 3 together

Money is a important factor for anyone coming off contract, and yes these kids have to set themselves up for life, who knows when the curtain can come down on your career. In saying that playing with your mates in a environment that you enjoy counts for a lot. I think Teddy has his head well and truly screwed on and knows that if the Tigers can keep the big three together the future is really bright and with a bright future they will be able to generate a lot of dollars off the field and enhance their chances for a career after football. I just hope the other two are as smart

I agee about Teddy, definitly the one you want to build the club around, and he wont be going on anywhere. Woods bleeds orange and black and he will be around. Brooks i reckon wont be offered anymore to go elsewhere so he will probably stay. But Moses makes me nervous, superstar in the making and will have plenty of clubs throwing big money at him. Would have to take a pay cut to stay or maybe Brooks is the sacrifice to keep the top 3 which are
1\. tedesco
2\. moses
3\. woods

I hope our year doesnt get de railed by contract talk and speculation next year. how good would it be to lock them up in the off season.

Be nice to get things sorted before round 1 2017, but doubt that will happen. Lets face both Brooks and Moses started to plays very good football once they took up their 2017 option, before that when their contracts dominated all the tiger talk in the media, they were very hot and cold

So because Teddy is willing to take less money to keep other players at the club he's a champion and a loyal clubman…. Oh the irony

Yes he should be pointing out what he could have earned elsewhere, and the "pay cut" he is taking and demanding that the money foregone be pushed into a heavily back ended contract when he is about 30.
That apparently is the sign of a completely loyal player, but apparently could leave them open to being mistreated by the club

While not wanting to get into the vitriole that seems to now permeate this site, I would suggest that the "backending" was at the request of the club and management at the time and not the player. Seriously, why would any employee in their right minds ask for funds to be withheld from them when they could use them currently?

Sometimes I think the emotional aspects of this debate inhibit any sort of clear and analytical thinking.

Anyone can see the team is playing united and happy, the kids run the team now.

I'm confident we will keep our big 4 at the moment.

Also, let's not re-write history as it was Tedesco who intended to bail on his mates to join the Raiders until ….......

There is a very, VERY big difference between a pay cut and deferring payments.

I loaned my mate $100 last week but he didn't have it this week so he is going to pay me next week. I didn't take a pay cut.

Talyor seem to be saying in the Johns interview that our big four seem to be happy with how the team is going which will play a big part in them all signing.

If we learn anything from the experience of the Storm, the most important positions are the halves. How long ago was Billy Slater injured? In the meantime the Storm found a talent from the lower grades to fill the fullback role. We also could do the same and this won't be popular but in 2018 we could find an exceptional replacement

1\. Moses
2\. Brooks
3\. Woods
4\. Tedesco

Really that's what you take out of the Storm? So Blake Green is currently their second most valuable player? And before that it was Ben Roberts?

The Storm were lucky to have Munster as an option, it would be ridiculous to just expect to have that kind of talent waiting in the wings and make decisions accordingly.

Okay, a truly sensible analysis.

Melbourne storm have never really placed an importance on 5/8\. Look back in time and they have never really had a stand out player there. I know inglis did for a little bit but he is no 5/8\. Slater was there 5/8 in attack same as our teddy, blessed with ball playing and running skills. They built that team around the top 3, smith, slater and cronk. They were very blessed to have a replacement in munster, but this at the end of his career not at his peak which is where teddy is.

Take Cronk out instead of Slater and Bellamy is in huge difficulty. We happen to have two fine young halves and we also have an exceptional talent in the lower grades who by 2018 would have gained very good experience.
