Have you seen Payne Haas play?
I’ve been following the game for 50 years and there hasn’t been a more destructive prop with as big an engine as the Broncos front rower. He’s a one off 👍
I don't deny that, but if you look at May's stats and rating he could be even better in the next couple of years. Back our boys not the Broncos.

I have said it in here before when Hass plays Brisbane start the game with 18 players he's worth 1.5 million
For me its not his big hit ups or the fact he plays 80mins, its because he is there to cover kicks, leads the kick chase, scrambles to tackle players that have made a break, pressures the player going for a drop kick in the 80th minute to win the game etc...

He’s a gun forward, and he will only get better. My concern is our defense, that’s been our achilles heal, keep a team under 18, you almost always win.
A front rower averaging almost 75 minutes per game is 100% a problem. It’s just not sustainable long term. Even Haas who has the best gas tank I’ve seen in a prop dropped to about 60-65 mins a game this year. (Apart from must wins)

Mays stats might not look as pretty but it’s more important to have a bigger impact on the field

He looked great playing 65+ minutes in almost every game this year, he's got elite cardio. But I agree he also needs better support and game management.

It's both. You typically get the effort guys who do all those things but couldn't bruise a grape or the intimidating power forwards who don't have the motor for all those effort plays. Haas is one of a kind consistently doing both.

Yea he certainly did but a few years down the line playing those kind of minutes will cook his body

Bit of Nathan Hindmarsh about him the way he does all that

We saw Haas have this issue for Samoa
Just wasn't the same player or as effective has he could be.

The more I think about it Terrell should move to lock

I am not sure that May has the skills or the leg speed to be creative enough for our team at 13. The position requires the timing of a genuine ball player and some footy smarts and as much as i like him i think we are better served leaving him to work on his aggression and offload in the front row. Less time and more focus on an impact and faster ptbs would be an improvement from him.

May still bounces about like a 6 year old ,hope he grows some smarts soon
Andrew Fafita was like that with us, then he went to Sharks who coached differently and won a GF. Other clubs, particularly Storm and Roosters have players' team cohesive or they're out the door. Trouble is, how do we get a coach who cares about players like a Wayne Bennet and negotiates like a US president in the one package?
