OFFICIAL Jarome Luai - #295

Andrew Fafita was like that with us, then he went to Sharks who coached differently and won a GF. Other clubs, particularly Storm and Roosters have players' team cohesive or they're out the door. Trouble is, how do we get a coach who cares about players like a Wayne Bennet and negotiates like a US president in the one package?
Cant use the name Donald Tr_ump without having some political bullshit attached?

Probably because mostly all he does is bullshit, and as negotiating isn't his forte, it would be better for WT to choose a previous one, or the Russian one, or the Chinese one ..........

I am not sure that May has the skills or the leg speed to be creative enough for our team at 13. The position requires the timing of a genuine ball player and some footy smarts and as much as i like him i think we are better served leaving him to work on his aggression and offload in the front row. Less time and more focus on an impact and faster ptbs would be an improvement from him.
Storm use the #13 different to Penrith
Do you remember the ball Terrell gave to Taylan for his first try in tigers colours? He has the ball playing ability and skills

We saw Haas have this issue for Samoa
Just wasn't the same player or as effective has he could be.

The more I think about it Terrell should move to lock
Check the deep dive on Locks for what May would bring, and how much we would need to change to accomodate his "style". He could work as a 13, but I don't think his performance at 13 would outweigh his ability and contributions as a prop.

When asked if he will remove his clause and commit to Wests Tigers long term he responded by saying he’s committed for 2026 and will review it each year.
Good for Luai to hold all the aces, not sure how it’s a good thing for Wests Tigers to beg for his loyalty at the end of each season.

keeps the club accountable to not revert back to being a basket case anymore.

By default,we haven't got too bad a hand ourselves..
If he improves us in 26 he's likely to stick around and see how far the ride goes
And if we don't improve next year..his likely departure will not be a disaster.....fresh start all around

I actually don’t mind it tbh, if he underperforms again we have an out, so we don’t end up like we did with people paying the wrong man 1.2m

I would like to play him the first 30 minutes then put him back on to start the second half that would give him a good 20 minute rest

Maybe bring Twal on at the 30 minute mark and let him play 50 minutes his defence in the back half of the game would be good

I am thinking KPP will add alot to the team just with his size something we are lacking

If Benji goes for size we are going to have the biggest pack we have had in many seasons, the go forward will be something to look forward to.

Just don't want to burn May out the guy is due for an injury if you keep running the minutes into him maybe best to cap him at 65 minutes a game

Royce and Bunty should do a job maybe only room for 1 of them will be interesting

V i’m not sure there are too many clubs that would want him at $1.2m per year. We went all in on him as a saviour !
I’m hoping for much bigger things from him in 26, especially if we’re going to issue any challenge for the Top 8.
Which must be our minimum goal imo !

Clubs like St George, Manly, Gold coast, warriors, eels, dolphins and maybe rabbits might all be potential suitors. I'm not sure it's quite hit 1.2, but desperation for quality halves would probably guarantee near that.
