Jason Cayless

I believe this is exactly the kind of signing we need.

I'm just dirty that our coaching staff failed to turn Lima and Tandy into regular first graders.

I saw both of those guys play plenty of times and couldn't understand why they couldn't get a decent crack. Especially when over the years much lesser talent (e.g. payne) have been afforded repeat chances.

Anyway, I'm very pleased about Cayless.

Chris,

Not worried about that at all. Lima is a good player but IMHO Cayless at his best if far superior. Dont you just love Sheens. Promises a marquee player every year and actually delivers. We have all been crying out for a prop and he actually delivers. Brilliant I say.

I disagree on both counts. I think Lima is a better (albeit different) player, and I wouldn't classify Cayless as a marquee player. That being said I am still extremely happy with this signing as we've been crying out for some more muscle up front for years now.

Tuquri is a marquee.

Cayless not a marquee? As Simon would say pffft. Hottest commodity on the market when he went to Wigan. Certainly had a rough trot with injuries but I see him in the same position Steve Price was when he went to the Warriors (equivalent ages) Price was struggling to find his best form at the Dogs and went to the Warriors and killed it.

If your definition of Marquee requires a signing of Tuqiri proportions then you will never be satisfied. There is no way this club can sign Tuqiri's every year.

Happy weve got a prop and one that was once very good, havent seen much of him lately so hard to say…but I too wouldnt call him a marquee signing, he has to prove himself once again after 4 years out of the top competition in the world.

I am still in shock we have signed a Prop….that is actually a prop!!!

hopefully Sheens keeps him in his preferred postion and doesn't try converting him into a halfback (aka Corey Pearson)

Great news. This club does have a history of turning around the luck of players previously injured. Lets hope it happens again.

I think that's a pretty evenhanded and correct appraisal. Look forward to seeing how Caveman goes.

Dont disagree. Of course anything could happen next year. But based on his ability and his age (which is prime for a prop) this is a very good signing.

You do realise that Corey Pearson only played one season under Sheens dont you. As I recall Sheens barely used him. If you want to make this comment you should have used Payten who at times has quite a successful link in our backline, though not always.

Very good news indeed. Just need Lima and Lote on board now. Cayless will definitely bolster the forward pack and hopefully he and Galloway will put plenty of dents in the opposition.

Good tough no nonsense front rower who will be chomping at the bit after such a long lay off, to show everyone that he is back in town. He will have had about 12 months to get over and strengthen his old shoulder injury so I expect him to take over where he left off. Beware the mighty Wests Tigers.

If he grows his hair back, he and Galloway (with the 'Galloway stare') will be the scariest LOOKING pair of props in the NRL, if nothing else.

Does this spell the end for Toddy Payton?

Well come to the Tigers den Jason. You will be an integral part of our push far into the top 8 next year. Now all we need is Lima and Tuquiri to make it a hatrick of awesome signings.

doubt it, payten signed for 3 more years

Not to sound negative, but this guy has barely played in 2 years as a result of shoulder & medial ligament injuries. Very serious injuries in my books.

Just hope he doesn't become another Ryan O'Hara.

Kind of expected more in a marquee signing.
