Jason Taylor on replacing Robbie Farah and the future of Mitch Moses and James Tedesco

Steve , youve really upset the JT brigade now lol. How dare you go there, questioning the great one himself.

They also have to want to come here too steve..its a two way street…not quite as simple as you think

That situation is even simpler than what I said. If they don't want to come they don't come. It's a non issue.

We are a quality club with quality players. If a coach or a player doesn't want to be here that is fine by us.

We are a long way away from being a quality club. We're an improving club with a few quality players. IMO.

haha…mate, sorry, but youre deluded

Poor old Steve can't win. He criticizes the coach, he gets hounded down. He praises the club and the team, he still gets hounded down! Sometimes it's better to just not post on here at all.

When you say "that is fine by us" Steve, are you speaking on behalf of all the forum members and supporters of the club and team or from within the inner sanctum….because you certainly don't speak on behalf of myself .....in my opinion we can become a quality club with quality players once we get rid of the deadwood and debts...if you think we have a TEAM full of quality player's you really are kidding yourself,we have talented players most of which are still learning NRL and a few seasoned player's, other than that we have fringe first graders at best filling in....Taylor is the chosen coach and has to do with what he has got....but you keep telling anyone that wants to listen how he has stuffed up the last 2 seasons,he really did well last year, but apparently its not good enough for you..........same old....same old....

People think I hate Taylor bottom line is I don't have faith that Taylor can take us to the next level. He has done some good dirty work around the place however when we had our chance in the last 4 rounds we were extremely poor. We are at a point now where we need to take the next step. He deserves this season to try and take us to that level but I'm not as confident.

I don't really understand how people can say he has done a great job when he came in preaching defence as his number 1 target yet he took us to 15th in the league this year with over 600 points conceded. The likes of Royce Simmons were pegged as clowns on here for doing similar over the years.

Its very simple from my end..

..improve the defense drastically or time is up jason…that is all.

If we can keep teams to an average of 18 or less for most part well make the finals

Exactly.

And he made a big deal of it when he came to the club.

He bagged past coaches and past Tigers teams.

We need to see it this year.

I would be delighted for 18 or less over the full season. To be honest if we dont get that i would accept a season where we win half our games with a positive for and against.I dont expect miracles

No information or insight in that article at all. Tell me a coach in the league who doesn't want his playmakers to make another step forward, hopes contract negotiations aren't a distraction, is positive about new signings and wants to downplay hype about a promising youngster. I'm not having a go at Taylor - it's just a nothing interview to fill space before training starts.

dont read it then?

You sort of have to read things in order to form an opinion on them. If I'd known in advance that it was going to be a waste of time I wouldn't have bothered.

Yeah it would save you a bit of time if they prefaced each of their articles with a disclaimer 'the following is a bloated, opinionated piece of rubbish'.

We aren't financially sound to be a top 4 club. Why don't people get this? Our training facilities are 1980's union standard.
We will forever be one of the teams either in the bottom of the 8 or miss it completely. Some years we will over achieve but that's our fate.
You need big bucks these days and we are out matched.
It's that simple.
We will always attract 2nd chance or rookie coaches.
If we didn't bring juniors through we would be a bottom feeding wooden spooners every year.
Our junior program is the only reason we even go ok.

The unwavering support for JT by some is mind boggling.

As is his detractors pinning 100% of the blame on him for the Farah situation, ignoring the obvious support he had from above.

I think JT has some part to do with the Farah situation, but I definitely think higher powers had much more to do with it then was made out.

But I reckon most of the criticism of JT is more about team selections and tactics rather than the whole Farah debacle.
