Jersey Talk - Mega Thread

The pepper money writing is terrible but Id look by that and still buy one of each. But the blue shit on the sleeve stops me right there.
It's laughable the whole team supporting theme, when you walk around shopping centres you see blokes only wearing their colours after a win but feel embarrassment after loses and are not seen in them especially after a hiding.

Not many who proudly walk around in everyday life strutting their team.

Ha ha... I saw a guy at the shopping centre on Saturday wearing a Rabbitohs indigenous tank top, so I went up to him and booed him! 🤣

I said "Go Wests!" and he thought I was referencing the Village People or Pet Shop Boys song... 😳

I made that part up. Would've been funny though...

I said "Go Tigers!" and we had a laugh.

That's really what all this crap should be - good natured banter taken as... Three guesses....

Good natured banter.

Accept there are actual important things you could better spend your (positive) energy on.

Time and change is inevitable and the best way to deal with it is to simply channel your inner Bruce Lee and "be like water, my friend".

Now, if you would like to reply, please fax me on.... 🤣

P.S., I'm all aware of the irony/hypocrisy of having spent 20 minutes making a visual illustration with boolean operators on this; I did it with lighthearted intentions, not to further fan any flames.

Oh for sure, it's also bad when they defect to another team to experience winning more haha

First time I remember was maybe in 1975 or 76, remember the great photo in Big League magazine of John Dorahy stepping in the weekend results section, we beat Manly 18-0 at Lidcombe Oval.

I liked the white, probably one of the first clubs to have a regular alternate strip.
This is linked to a FB post cant find out when....
Looks.like Amco cup maybe...striped ball

Took a closer look at the photo, noticed it has the new emblem which debuted in 1978, the Victa sponsorship also began in 78 but from memory wasn't until a few rounds into the season, so this could be either an early Amco Cup game or possibly the pre-season night competition (called the Wills Cup from memory) in 78.

Westmont jerseys also...not sure when Wests began with them

They actually looked pretty good.

Never knew Des Hasler played for Wests until now. Googled him, and after 28 minutes on the Dress Hassler wiki, made my way to his page and saw he played his final year with them in '97. Super League's only season.

It's turned into quite an interesting thread with all the knowledge being shared! 😊
The Goldstar sponsorship as worn by Des in that photo was that companies early entry into the Australian market, now known as LG.

Never been keen on purchasing the jerseys, but the white one has me interested.

For those who have purchased it, what is sizing like? I'm normally a Large for a baggy/loose fit for regular clothing, would this be the same?
