JESSIE RAMIEN BOOTED FROM KNIGHTS!

Our centres are the weakest in the league. Ramien could be a big improvement. Could. His attitude is weak and defence not the greatest but if Madge can do a job with marsters and momirovski then Ramien should be doable. Ramien will no he'll be worked to death so if that doesn't interest him and he wants an easy option then he won't come

can't see why we punt Marsters for Ramien?! I know his form has been down this year but he's still a young player and it's not like he's been playing bad, just okay is his form. He can be brilliant and a game breaker.

Haha our centres are not the weakest in the league. In fact, our centre pairing (Mbye and Marsters) is pretty middle of the road. Here are a list of teams with worse centre pairings:
- Dragons (Aitken & Lafai)
- Cowboys (Kahu & Opacic)
- Bulldogs (Holland & Hopoate)
- Broncos (Staggs & Bird [when fit] or Glenn/Shibasaki)
- Knights (Hunt & ?)
- Titans (Kelly & Watkins)
- Manly (Parker & Suli)
- Eels (Blake & Jennings)

"Emerged as a shock contender" bahahaha

How can you be a "shock contender" when all you did was phone his manager to see what was up. The article even stresses that all Roosters have done is enquire about Ramien.

Typical Telegraph and James Pooper malarkey. Whenever that bloke opens his mouth, only sewerage ever comes out. I cannot begin to define the contempt with which I hold him.

Ramien is a big improvement on Marsters he’s a powerful centre but extremely fast. Marsters has struggled with lateral defence his future is in the back row. I can’t see it happening but would be a good sign as to who Maguire can attract without paying retirement money like Cleary.
Lima’s, Scott, Ramien, Brimson etc are rumours but if we sign these types of players we have turned the corner.

Yes please dynamic and strong is just want we need. Apparently the article also states cowboys after Esan and Curtis Scott

From the article...

Marsters is another player North Queensland are keen on. Scott made an instant impact, winning a premiership ring at just 19 and scoring a try in Melbourne’s 34-6 defeat of the Cowboys in the 2017 grand final.

Scott played in his second grand final last year, a 21-6 loss to the Roosters, but he has endured a forgettable campaign this season.

The 21-year-old has played just seven games and was dropped early in the season by coach Craig Bellamy amid concerns over his form and some off-field issues.

Scott is contracted until the end of 2021, but it is understood the Storm are open to an early release if a rival club, such as the Cowboys, made inquiries.

The Tigers are keen to secure Ramien but the club is battling salary cap pressures and may have to offload a current squad member, such as Marsters, to accommodate him.

You’ll see that Cronulla also rumoured to be a club he could go to have offered him $2,000 000 over 4 years.
Now the question isn’t only do we need a centre of Ramiens ‘potential’? It’s also do we need to be paying $500,000 a season for a centre of that potential. His a strike centre and as mentioned Masters has moved left to accomodate... Momo is a decent centre in my opinion just not quick. Ramien would be a good pick up for $400,000 which is unlikely. More likely is we have to pay $540-580,000 a year to secure him as his preference is Cronulla.
If Masters was to be moved on. We’ll that’s another option.
The good clubs ensure they upgrade player by player.
Like it or not but Momo is basically a slower version of Lomax. The upside is Lomax if you get him, Momo would become depth or be released this is the way sharks built their grand final winning team. Minor upgrades across the squad.

The 4 year bit is out of the question for mine. You can do that sort of duration for an internal player that you know well, but not for a player being let go elsewhere.

What do you mean by that?
Not sure if Cronulla is going to offer 4 years or if we should?

Only concerned what WT do and don't want Packer type situations, plus the coach is only signed for another two years and the tv rights deal is up.

@formerguest
Absolutely!
4 years is definitely a no no. But for us I wouldn’t even entertain a $500,000 + contract for one season.
I see Moylan or Dugan being moved on.

Lomax would be the pick of the backline players to get if the rumour he wants out is true

Agreed. Scott is also up there and Ramien is well down the list. Masters is a better and far more complete player. Ramien is strong but not overly quick and his defence is problematic.

You honestly believe this? I’m surprised I would of thought Ramien was quicker than masters?

Ramien is no speedster. It is his strength to break tackles that makes him dangerous. He needs to return to the Sharks. We need Scott and Lomax. Scott needs us to return to Sydney and come under the influence of Marshall and Matterson and co. Scott's best is far superior to Ramien's. Masters is a gem

@pawsandclaws1
Agree with Scott. Although didn’t offer much v the Titans the other day. But at his best was a good. However I feel you may be forgetting how much of a strike Ramien was for the sharks last year.
What do you mean by Gem B?
