We are coming across as a club desperate to sign a "named player"....surprised we didn't go hard for Bird

(that was just abit out of the fox sports article on the secret meeting)

Anxiety is a demon of a problem and mixed with depression isnt something anyone wants to be dealing with. So imagine when you tell someone thats dealing with these issues that your pay will be cut down to half on a one year deal with another year in the clubs favour.
The anxiety and depression levels would go through the roof.

Tbf it was his decision to walk away from 500k however you make valid points. Maybe Tigers walked in and said "Hey mate you've done it tough for a while now and so have we as a club. How bout we work together on turning all of that around". "We'll give you all you need to become a better person and in return all we ask is you contribute to us becoming a better team".

sometimes it is just a simple act of faith that can turn these things around... regardless of if he signs for us or not, the guy needs some people around him that can hopefully keep him either out of gaol or much worse.

Isnt Jimmy the Jet know as a player that needs a bit of a cuddle from time to time, Madge certainly isnt that. This could end very badly or be a masterstroke.

Sheeeesh!!! Talk about jumping to conclusions...

Maybe they both know the Jet from way back and were simply catching up to see how he is and where his heads at.

Everytime we're mentioned in da press the god damned pea heart doom patrol infiltrates da forum.

It's da off-season, head to ze Pub and stress less...

This club is a punch line. When do we get to hear the joke???????

Maybe your a joke supporter

Yep. Cried as a six year old when Ellery got head higher in 88. Still a fan. Surely it’s people like me this club is supposed to represent. I’m over it.

If true, what odds can we get of Jimmy and BJ getting arrested during the off-season?

Together

Yes, together. Sportsbet might have something.

SMH could run a double page spread with the WTs' logo all over it.

Honestly, i know the club is trying, BUT i just don't feel that other clubs discards is the way to go. If you want to win a comp they must persist chasing A graders.
In saying that,i am sure in the event we do sign him,it shouldn't cost us too much! His defence worries me.

Sometimes it can work out. The bulldogs and us couldn't get through to Suli, but it seems Manly might have been the right fit.

If he's cheap and it's a gap filler before JAC, then why not?

1. Mbye
2. Talau
3. Jimmy
4. BJ
5. Noffa

It's passable

Hey HT i hate to tell you but JAC ain’t coming. Not now, not tomorrow, not ever.

If Broncos and Souths coaches, culture, facilities and players could not get the best out of Roberts, what chance do we have?
IMHO, huge risk, I would say yes only if we pay max 200K!

Agree...
I’d take him on 2 year deal (2nd year club option)....minimum wage + incentives for playing first grade.

I thought Pascoe had absolutely nothing to do with recruitment?

What we've been told is that
- Other people in the club handle all of the recruitment.
- Pascoe is one vote on a committee which decides whether to offer a contract.
- Pascoe has the power to veto a signing if he wants (which he never does).

I too am interested in why he is there.

Was that info from Pascoe?

If i was at the Helm at WT ,first thing i would do is grab Pascoe by the ear and waltz him into my barber in Drummoyne.

No need the barber comes to us..

I got a hot tip that the barber only signed a HOA and has decided to stay with his 2020 salon

Sorry but Jimmy the Jet doesn't get my hopes up. His head just hasn't been in it for years. If he can get back to the form he showed at the Titans, then yeah, he'd be worth it. He has a lot of mental health issues. I don't know if we have enough strong characters at our club to help him through them.

He likely needs empathetic characters more than anything else and few strong characters possess such a strength.

Give him a Lolly pop and $2 if he loses a tooth

It must have been a last minute invitation as he looked like they dragged him there from the lane behind a pub with paper bag in hand.

Holey crap, is that the actual pic?

Jimmy’s obviously trying to get his contract back at south’s . Told his manager to get in touch with the Tigers and that’ll get those bastards interested again.

**> At a cheap price I would take him. He has what is missing in our backline and that is electric pace**. I’d sign him to a one year contract with a club option for the second year.

He would realise it’s his last chance to make something out of his talent and we might get his amazing side.

When he's on, I think he's close to the best game breakers in the NRL.
Was never a fan off him but that try (in his last year at the Broncos) still sticks in my mind as one of the best long range tries, in recent years.
