Do people understand how messed up aboriginal communities are ? There’s no surprise to me that many of them have huge mental health issues , not even taking into account the paradox between the day to day of the mob , compared to that of western civilisation.
I’m not even going to go into all the really bad stuff , as it’s all been said before , but some of these guys , especially the ones who arnt hitting thier missus , and being horrendous human beings , need help.
And the same goes for anyone who grew up in lower socioeconomic circumstances.
Like I said , the bubble that is football , is very what have you done for me lately , and we all are the problem .
Jimmy just seems like a screw up to me . He doesn’t come across as a bad bloke . Many , like Greg bird , for example , I have to say the opposite about .
I have no issues kicking the tyres and seeing , if he wants another chance . If his minds up to it.

I think the NRL have a real problem brewing here and should instigated a system where players showing signs of waywardness should be paid a livable wage and their money held in trust until they show they can handle it or until they retire .

Wow

Sound like marriage

Wow

They did this for Andrew Walker at Easts, I'm told. He had a minder that gave him a stipend from his salary, because he'd burn through it otherwise.

Good luck with telling adults how to run their lives. Perhaps we should do that nation wide?

I'd be surprised if every club didn't have financial manager services on offer to their players. Not enforcing the players to enter into ways to invest some money, but giving them that option, and I bet most would take it.

It wouldn't solve the issues some people/players have, but it would certainly assist* some of them.

That should be in every NRL contract, most footballers are not very smart and do need advice on financial matters

And the money is hopefully enough to set them up or at least provide something for the rest of their life. It can't do this unless they are shown how. It's common sense really.

Isn’t that the actual managers role?

The fact we are looking at Jimmy shows how desperate Tigers are to sign someone, almost anyone. Total desperation.

No offer has been made so I wouldn't get too worked up over it.

Yes we have made no offer, but according to the Telegraph hacks we have missed out on signing Roberts, once again highlighting our inability to recruit anyone of note. True article, found it on Facebook, followed by dozens of comments saying how much of a basket case the club is - can you believe it?? These pricks have a lot to answer for, they are deliberately trying to destroy our brand and need to be held accountable.

Hold them to account and if they don’t reply ask again until they do - some one has to

Can this guy just shut up. Can anyone remember Marina Go commenting on every player we were linked to? The guy is an utter moron with a penchant for seeing his name in the newspapers.

Agreed. Loves to make a comment. And judging by how big he wants his logo everywhere he seems like a total narcissist

Hey pays for the right to do this. I heard an account that Harry T was also willing to basically buy the Tigers a decade ago but wanted to do everything his way.

I say to Lee: "continue your good fight sir, and please send your monthly cheque."

I’m a huge fan of Lee. He comes out and defends the club when he has too. He has no choice. The mainstream media is out to get us and he must put a tigers narrative on all the fake news out there. Keep doing your thing Lee.

Regardless of what us fans say and think, all this exposure in print media and social media would have Lee giddy.

Other clubs are truly envious of our commercial pull. And not that I give a toss about that side of the club but it's great for business.

Just wish we could combine all the drama with more wins on the field. And if we do get more wins then I hope the drama stays:joy: . Would be hella boring without it

Honestly he has to get out there and compete against the negative press . It’s a public relations battle now, of which we have always lost.
I don’t mind it . He hasn’t lied about anything , has been transparent , and , the only bad thing he said was , we are talking to X we put in a good offer we will see what happens .
It shows we are out there , which should give the fans hope . But many just want to see the negative in everything .

The problem is most the rumours, agendas and untruths he goes out to refute end up being stunningly accurate and he ends up looking like a fool.

I am sure that if we keep looking we can do better than Roberts. I am sure that there is a someone out there that has wasted more opportunities and has less options that we can make a play for.

Happy to take a gamble at 130k if we have slots free, you need to fill them at min wage anyway which it basically is.
