Joey Leilua #226

I never want to see a bloke fail, but this was as predictable as the sun rising.

If he was any good, the Raiders wouldn't have dumped him.

You'd think we would have learned our lesson by now......

BJ signing made sense at the time, was a high risk high reward signing.
With how the comp is now, a strike centre can be very deadly with the new rules, the game just got too fast for people like BJ.

There's been other players here on more money doing less, imo he's by no means the worst signing WTs have made.

Thank god they got the option in our favour.

What a horrible signing he turned out to be

I bag Madge for the sides poor form, but I won't bag him for taking a punt on BJ, although the $600k we are paying this year is not ideal

At least Reynolds *wanted* to play. Mbye seems to not care at all.

I agree, you could never question Reynold's attitude, he always put in.

Like Ballin, it was just bad luck he spent more time in recovery than on the pitch.

Ballin wasn't bad luck, it was a disaster, he was busted before we signed him, a JT special that was purely designed to push Farah out

No I think the vast majority on here thought it would be a good signing. He has all the talent in the world but he's a lazy slug

Remember this cracker from Tahu in the pre season:
"Tahu will work closely with the Tigers three-quarters, including Roberts, Joey Leilua and Tommy Talau. The 40-year-old believes there is tremendous upside to the trio.
“You look at Jimmy, he was the NSW centre just [two years ago],” Tahu said. “That’s where I expect him and BJ to be as well. They just need to believe in it.
**“One of the reasons I’m there is to give them that belief. They are natural strike weapons. There’s not too much to teach on the field.**
“I feel they should be the NSW centres, for sure.”
>

**Must have all just got on the cans.**

Either on the cans or Tahu is not very believable.

Remember when he was interviewed when he first arrived at the Tigers and got asked, "who is the best centre in the game?". He replied with, "You're looking at him". LMFAOOOO🤣😭🙃😵. Should switch to full time comedian.

At least this one was only for 2 years. I dont mind a big money punt for 2 years. We actually really needed a strike centre (still somewhat do). It didn't work out. He was and still believe has the ability to be a top centre. We haven't got the best out of him.

In all seriousness, how did it go so wrong?

He was a risk in terms of brain snaps in a game and suspensions, but was dangerous in attack across a career at 3 clubs (that is why he was on the money he was on).

How can 4 coaches across 3 clubs have him performing, but since joining us he has been an abject failure.

The game got faster which leaves lazy players behind.

Wouldn’t make ‘Standup’ - needs a rest too often

In all honesty BJ is the one who has never got the best out of himself. We are just another club that tried and failed and even then he was at the end of his career when he arrived here

Exactly. Think of sportsmen who prepared themselves to give their best. BJ just doesn't think like that and it's his loss.

You and I know the answer to that, so do a few others on here

He is 29 now, so not past it, he was dally M centre of the year a couple of years back, so it's not all on him, we own a lot of it

By age he may not be past it but by his attitude he certainly is.I hope his brother does not go down the same road because he is also very talented

He has been a disastrous signing for WTs . I would have gladly not had him and paid the extra to get JAC.
