I've read that the Bulldogs are in the box seat but why would they be? Doesn't he want to come back here and we have plenty of money so......
Be patient and wait I guess...

This is how GM's/CEO's/Coaches get the punt. You don't weaken arguably the most important position on the squad to strengthen one of the least important. Dogs would be getting mugged on that deal unless they had a ready made replacement for Lewis

It would be hilarious if the dogs decided to go into 2020 with two rookies from Canterbury's cup as their starting halves

Wooden spoon contenders for sure

Exactly. Lewis is a damn good player with a good head on his shoulders. It'd be madness to sacrifice a potential lynch pin and leader for a winger, no matter how good they are. Meaney + transfer fee would make much more sense but don't tell the Bulldogs......

Whilst I appreciate players have a limited time to earn their money, more and more seem to forget they signed contracts and agreed to the dollar value at the time. I don’t begrudge them looking for more but we end up with Addo Carr saying he think he is worth more as he states another origin winger is on more. The NRL needs to step up, however with their lack of leadership I doubt that will happen. Imaging if the players form drops as we have seen with some players coming to us, could we play them less..... The answer is No.

I would offer Addo-Carr $500k to come back as he has an essential piece we desperately need in pace across the paddock.

Jac has to work out his management issues before anything else...talk of legal action from present management to other types shopping him around to clubs … ugly matters these things and it takes time to sought out ...doubt he will be playing anywhere but Melbourne this coming season .

These guys have many people around telling them what they should be doing ... surrounding yourself with know it alls never works out well , smart operators employ professionals to enhance there careers not uncle Benny or Stevie from down the pub!

Same circus for sure! Seems it all starts when the manager won’t do what he’s told 😂 let’s hope Pacific don’t get hold of him. Look at the eye watering deal they got for Cherry-Evans .

A bit strange that 2 very close mates , both staunch indigenous men , are having the same issues with management.
Is it this culture or “you’re my mob” ,that a lot of indigenous kids , have to provide for anyone who is remotely connected to thier family.
Can anyone shed any light on this ? I’ve been reading about the culture , and it seems so foreign to me. I get family loyalty, but mates of your cousins mate , type stuff , just doesn’t seem right to me.
It reeks of opportunism, of which , I really feel for these kids , and the weight of the world they must feel .

Agreed, it's just the Matto story all over again, with a player thinking he deserves more money and questioning his workload after having a good year. No doubt, too, after having all his minders and hangers-on tell him to do "better" by himself.

It's only the morals and ethics of the player that guide what happens next. If JAC wants to be like Matto, agitate and disrupt the preseason, make bad talk about the club etc., Storm will have no choice but to let him go, or burden themselves with a guy who either (a) doesn't want to be there and won't be reliable; (b) wallows in reggies collecting a handsome pay packet.

Primary difference between Matto and JAC, by this account, is the value of the contract at risk - Matto was on double of JAC.

Isn't also Pacific SM the same managers for both JAC and Matto? Bit of an irony that PSM help Matto get out of his deal for Eels, but are now facing the drama with JAC being sniped from them using the same tactics.

Mitchell's and Addo Carr's relationships with 'family', to some extent, depends on how staunchly they identify with Aboriginal culture. If they are following kinship law, each of them will have beholding relationships with some (extended) family members and will have avoidance relationships with others.
Each will have beholding relationships with their uncles, including both blood family and anybody else that can be identified as an 'uncle' through kinship rules. I don't know what family relationships they have with their managers if any, but uncles are life advisors so their opinions matter and should be taken into account. Problems may arise if different uncles are advising different things.
I don't know that any of this applies to Mitchell or Addo Carr. I know a few individuals in the NT that, although brought up in fairly traditional settings, completely reject the strictures imposed by kinship law.

- Matto was on double of JAC.

I’m not so sure about that? I think their contracts at the time of dummy spitting are/were about the same?

Please don't compare JAC and Matterson. JAC appears to be a very good bloke and highly regarded in the NRL. I understand he has a family issue and we can all empathise with him. He has also been at our club and did well. If he does come back I cannot wait. As for Matterson, the Club handled his exit as well as it could and picked up quite a few exciting players from the Eels.

Absolutely! The fox’s pace is only of value when he gets clean ball.

No I think most of the Player Agents/Managers are just looking out for pay checks.
They develop relationships early in the rep career, give the guys sneakers or whatever they need. Then get a huge chunk of their pay and push them to be money hungry.

Issac Moses, Sam Abdul, etc. Doubt they are any different to Orr or any of them.

They need to make a rule or something along the lines of once you have a signed a contract your manager cannot contact you until your free to negotiatewoth other clubs then he steps in and does his job again there is no need to be talking to your player manager on a regular basis there just gonna feed you crap and tell you your worth more money so they make more money out of you
