I couldnt be bothered going back to dig it up, but someone posted here the EXACT same narrative and over a short time it completely fell to bits, from memory over the 24hr deadline and other things.

I dont doubt that this is the story YOU were told but based on actual known facts, you are hearing a curated version.

Hmmm, there’s like 2 people who have claimed that it wasn’t about the money . Every other person with a snippet of info ,has stated it was . I would say , the club got wind of the manly approach , got tipped off ,Put the ultimatum in place and suddenly Josh ALOIAI is on 650-700k when he’s barely a 400k player , with manly . Throw in the fact I that Tyran is a knockabout all round good bloke of a manager who never does anything dodgy , negotiated AFB out of his manly contract to Miraculously walk into a 900k multi year contract , with warriors , and have his other player miraculously get screwed over by his team . All within a few weeks of each other . Not to mention having manly just give up on thier best prop in the game for some crazy reason . NRL clubs really do suck don’t they . So ruthless ...

Downvote me as much as you want, that is not how it played out. Josh showed himself to be chasing money and no spin you try to put on this will show otherwise.

You don’t know the story and never will. It is what it is and that’s the facts.

I do know the story, right down to Josh's demands. You may have been told this is what happened but you are wrong.

I do as well, and know you are wrong but we’ll leave it at that, not getting anywhere here.

If you want to come on here and detail a fabricated story to paint Josh in a good light, don't be surprised when you are told you are wrong.

And don’t be surprised when obviously fabricated agendas by this forum or the club being forced down your throat result in forum members leaving, when I actually enjoyed posting my input on juniors etc. here. My info is not fabricated and I don't have an agenda, Josh was seeking more money and already had an offer from Manly when he approached the club with his demands. He was disrespectful in his dealings with the club as can be seen from his behaviour on social media. He was obviously offended at the valuation that was placed on him by the club and agitated for a release, he was granted this after Manly paid compensation to the Wests Tigers. It is time for him to move on and stop trying to rewrite history.

Two things stand out for me:

Was never about the money and wants to play finals. If the numbers are correct he's set to earn a massive upgrade money wise so to say it's not about the money is a bit rich.

Secondly Manly's roster apart from the Turbo brothers is pretty ordinary. I don't think even with an injury free Tom they'll make the 8. He goes down again they most certainly won't.

I know the story first hand and as a massive Tigers fan it’s an interesting one.

He is getting a big pay rise at Manly but was willing to take less at the Tigers to stay as he was comfortable here.

I remember you (or someone else with EXACTLY the same narrative) rolled out that story at the time and it prompted a lot of angst and anti club sentiment. But my memory is that a lot of information subsequently leaked including his signing fee that pretty much refuted this.

He either is tiga4eva or has seen the same screencaps and thinks he is in the inner sanctum. tiga4evas story fell apart last time.

I am now grateful that Alioia left, it has enabled a solid cleanout with (potentially) better players, on less money in a better balanced side.
