Unfortunately I've known this for a while...but can't elaborate

Is it something we should be worried about or no? (I mean worried in the context of what he’s done, not about him staying or leaving)

As I've stated in the past, I'm a good friend of Josh,s mum,and I'm sure you guys would respect the fact I can't say anymore, it will come out eventually but it's not my place to say....would appreciate no snide remarks thanks boys

For someone that doesn't want to say anything you keep popping up in the thread. Why would you make any comment in the first place?

If you read most of my comments Shane I'm calling for any threads regarding this matter be locked

Yes and it has 0% chance of happening given it's plainly a relevant topic. There was free discussion when Musgrove, Lyle Lovett, MCK and others were charged with criminal offences, there is no reason the situation should be different with Reynolds.

FWIW, Josh dated my cousin for a while. His mum and my aunt know each other and introduced them. They didn’t stay together long term but he always treated her really well and was a pretty down to earth and genuine bloke. I can’t speak for his current relationship at all. By all reports they’ve had an extremely tough 12 months losing twins. Don’t right the guy off until he’s had his day in court because he could be completely innocent.

I’ve got mates in the police and in this day and age even if your neighbour contacts the police with a complaint you and your missus are having a pretty vocal fight, one or the other can end up with a domestic violence charge because the police have to show they’re dealing with these issues.

Unfortunately, it’s also very difficult for police to tell whether it’s just a one off little verbal issue about how you told her you’d do something 6 months ago and can’t believe she’s asking again or whether this may be a relationship that the woman (or man) man be too scared to report a legitimate verbal or physical DV issue. So sometimes they’ll just take the one away that they may believe has the potential to cause harm and let the courts handle the matter.

Completely agree with your point about letting it play out before assigning guilt but the rest of your post about it possibly being nothing, noisy arguments and neighbours seems to be redundant based on the fact that she went down the cop shop to report it.

I didn’t say Josh did nothing? I don’t know the inner details. All I said was don’t right the guy off because none of us really know all the info and he deserves to have his day in court and share his version of events.

- Noisy arguments and neighbours - I was just voicing generally - not related to Josh, but that something as simple as having a bit of a verbal argument with a partner can result in being charged for this offence. Police have an (understandable) duty of care related to any potential DV and if they rock up at the door generally someone is going back to the station.

It is fine to discuss the topic, but it must be remembered that he must have his day in court. He has not been convicted of anything. Allow this to be played out in court before making accusations about his character.

Didn't someone say on here recently it was just a personal matter and nothing to worry about?

Yep... Sums up this place/forums/social media/internet

What we didn't need

I hope this works out for JR ...he needs a lucky change

But if your guilty , they need to throw the back at him .....sorry ......the players have had so many warnings
I

7 pages of Oooh Ahhh and tsk tsk. It could be anything and only our mate, who likes everybody to know he knows Reynolds Mum, knows more. Okey dokey.

Be interesting if nrl stand him down. Where is the line in the sand.
Fwiw i get the impression that if jr did something wrong he would put his hand up. Seems to be pretty foward on what morals but time will tell.

If he'd done anything wrong, the club would have stood him down immediately.

I dare say, the fact that Reynolds and the club got on the front foot and reported this to police and to the integrity unit themselves prior to being charged might mean he saw it coming.

Just for some perspective....I've got a massive bruise on my shin right now from smashing it into the bottom of the bed frame...simply wasn't looking. I could go and report someone, show my bruise, some fluffy evidence that they were there on the day and get them charged.

Josh and the club have handled the situation well thus far.

False accusation and DV are just as disgusting as each other...in this case, however, I hope it's only a false accusation we are dealing with.

according to foxsports. NRL, across all their platforms have removed an anti-violence campaign video featuring JR

I would think the line in the sand is the precedent set with Dylan Walker.

Apparently doesn’t trigger no fault policy.

This level of charge is at Greenburgs discretion as to whether the no fault policy is enforced!

There's 2 sides to every story, I don't know what happened but Josh seems like a good bloke. Hoping he is innocent. Also hoping the lady involved is ok if indeed it did happen.

It is below the 11 years sentence which is the level for an automatic stand down but Greenburg has discretion for serious offences below 11 years which is what was used to stand down Dylan Walker!
