Good game. Our young centre, Dudley Dotoi, demonstrated tremendous pace in scoring one try and setting up another as well as great defence. Cathane Hill looks a fine talent and the young Kirwan 5/8, Harley Taylor, who apparently is one of ours looks a good half. He has a nice pass left to right and is a good goalkicer.

Looks like Ejay Lui is gone too. I thought he looked very good with work to do on his fitness but didn't seem like the club rated him for whatever reason.

Where’d you see that mate?

Yeah, he was playing 3rd grade for Western Suburbs a fair bit this year, which isn’t where they usually put the elite juniors.

Was always a bit on the chubby side so maybe a fitness thing like you said.

There was a Q & A on one of the many WT fan instagram accounts. I think this one is Talking Wests Tigers. Lui said he was going up to QLD.

So looks like at the moment he isn't contracted with anyone for next season. Not us (as Hartigan didn't bother to discuss contract extensions with anyone).

He doesn't come across as overly professional, even when making a video for instagram for fans. Sure i think he's a bit of a larrikin, but he's got to put the hard yards in too. Haven't seen him train so not sure what his attitude is like there.

Was impressive in NSW Cup cameo and just needs to work on his fitness to be able to last longer out on the field. So long as he's prepared to put in the hard work over the off season and work on his game.

Sounds like he's one of these players being poorly advised to ditch NSWRL and play in QRL due to covid, which is just nonsense. I'd certainly keep him on a nsw cup contract for next season, potential to be one of the most damaging props in the game.

Maybe ...maybe not .....a step backwards could mean 3 steps forwards if one of the 4 Qld NRL clubs snag him ...particularly Redcliffe ......

Dotoi looked dangerous with every touch of the ball. Definitely a talented athlete and looking forward to seeing him in Tigers colours next year!

Tumeth, Matamua, Tannous, O’Kane, Saukuru, Peni, Hill, Pole, Guyan and Roberts to train with first-grade at the beginning of pre-season.

It's weird that all our qld boys haven't been named in the squad. Maybe just making sure they earn it through training against the other boys, but weird for players like Dotoi, Cathane and Herman not to be here when surely they'd be starting round one.

Also sad that Lambkin is no longer flegg coach, anyone know where he's gone?

I was thinking possibly the KOE coach.

The others (Dotoi, Herman, etc.) are younger and will still be in SG Ball next year.

They played the equivalent of sg ball this year in queensland! Age should have little to do with selection. These players should be pushing for first grade in 2023. Zero point starting them in a comp they've already dominated in. Challenge them at the appropriate level.

Tre Peni and Corey Thomas came down from Qld Schools the previous season and played with Balmain. It seems to be a good way of adjusting them to life in Sydney.

Here's an article on Donovan Boney ex Chifley High.

Marli J Townshend played for the Eels SG Ball but the previous year was with the Knights SG Ball. He is a centre or winger.

Selwyn Smith is a prop from Kempsey.

Well his mum rates him. If he turns out to be a champion she can have Warren’s job.

If anything the qld boys will all be ahead of their sydney counter parts. All the qrl junior footy and schoolboy comps were completed. In NSW players didn't get to finish their campaigns.

Take Matamua, Westfield SHS played maybe 2-3 games, and Magpies Ball was done early in the year.

Herman shouldn't need to adjust from living on the gold coast to sydney. Not as if he's coming from a country town with 100 people.

Usually these players wouldn't be eligible for Ball as ball is a schoolboys comp, but with age restrictions being pushed up a year for junior grades it means more players are eligible for the various grades.
Thomas had Dillon ahead of him so understably he was biding his time. Spots in this squad are wide open
