after having a bit to process, this signing shows the lack of faith the club has in Hoffman & Kei as genuine centre options next year. Talau is a while off, Kepaoa off an ACL and Gildart a complete unknown at this stage. unsure what Tupou brings but to coerce him to switch back codes on a 3 year deal indicates that the club thinks he's worth it. I guess we'll know more come trial games.

I think you grab any opportunities to sign good prospects on position's that need improvement..

Happy with this signing must have something special about him to get 3 years off the bat and I reckon Roberts will be our 29th spot just my opinion but won’t be surprised with it but I hope Junior Tupou does well and can hopefully get a run next year

I would say that this signing almost guarantees that Roberts will not get a top 30 deal with us.

Why have an old unreliable and broken down ferrari when there's a brand new lamborgini in the garage?

With Tupou now signed we’re at 28 and there still isn’t a lot of talent left on the market for 22 so I reckon our final 2 spots will be 1 back and 1 forward just my opinion but if we do it that way unless they are gonna promote one of our lower grade players Roberts will defs get a contract for 2022

That's jibberish. We've got 800k to spend on 2 players. Why would we spend 150k on a proven failure. He offers little. Far more likely to sign Cotric than Roberts IMO.

Tupou has size, pace and skill. He's got to show he can do it at a higher level but he looks to be the best backline prospect at the club. Potentially a better version of Ogden. But that remains to be seen.

Kid was always playing 2 years above his age group including rep and origin and this is why he is a gun. Able to play wing, fullback and center. Not even to mention that he is a goal kicker

Street talk: The raiders tried to snatch him up before the Brumbies but their deal meant he would’ve gone through 2 years of development before even making the first grade which didn’t make any sense for an SG ball player who was one of the hottest young guns on the market. Just look up his stats and his resume. This kids is a gun and for raiders to offer him a 💩 deal meant that brumbies scooped him up with a better deal and part of their 30 man squad. Rickey Stuart fuggged up so the kid was lost to rugby union and now lost to a Syd club.

Then he is exactly what we’ve been needing for quite some time now.
I’m really pleased we are now more focussed on younger recruits with desire and ability, rather than the retirees who talk about leadership as they walk to the scrum.
