Juniors - Pathways General Discussion

I see Campbelltown Collegians have gone broke and gone into receivership .
Thought they were a pretty big and strong club tho may be wrong here.
Not good either way

Shaun Mielekamp recently made a very good point regarding questions as to why the club is not doing a lot more in providing information, discussing and highlighting our promising players.
Like many others, my nitrous are we should be doing a lot more as it could make our younger and emerging players feel good about themselves and hopefully make them feel more attached to the club by seeing articles about themselves from within the club.
Shaun pointed out that he feels by highlighting our best younger and emerging players, although it would be good communication and reading for our fans, it also highlights them to our rival clubs and potentially makes them a bigger target.
Our club gets heavily criticised by myself included when we lose promising young or emerging players such as Cooper Clarke to rival clubs, so it does make a bit of sense to limit their exposure as much as possible.

Sad part about cooper Clarke is that he lost 30 kg before he was selected by storm ( John’s commentary ch 9 ). Had he woken up prior to not being kept would have been ideal but don’t think you can blame the club for that. Club has set a precedent miller for example.
It’s unfortunate but you can’t punt on one fatso with skill when the aim is first grade. If they don’t have the drive to get in shape while they are young odds are they’ll turn up in park football

The real question why the rough diamonds where not kept or not given the proper attention, certain people still at the club where so in love with Team Galvin they failed to see what they had already in the club.

Must be why there has been no promotion of today’s Wests Tigers CUBS 17/18s squad playing St Helens touring 18s at Camden!

For those interested, the replay is on Bar TV in full with commentary. I hope to watch tonight.

Surely it’s not hard for the club to pre-promote this on its socials and advise it’s live on Bar TV.

Talk about the club missing opportunity after opportunity to help fans build a connection with our juniors. Shaun M is talking a big game with our pathways but is missing a trick atm. I hope for our club’s future and his, this improves.

If you’re told by storm you’re a fatty you pull your head in…do the tigers not communicate kpis?

Watched the replay of the Wests Tigers Cubs (mostly 16/17yos) against the touring St Helens 18s from yesterday at Camden.

WT won 5 tries to 3 and were the better side in very windy conditions. The St Helens boys were quite impressive, a large physical team and were strong defensively.

Out of our lads, I was most impressed with the Finau twins (Kingston left centre & Zeph destructive energetic middle) & Denham Tsagalas (left backrow).

Big Noah Vaotangi (lock/middle), both fullbacks we used - Siaosi Vatuvei & Bainyn Wood, left winger Lachlan Ellis & lock Jyai Milford also stood out & forward Oscar Faumui had moments.

Kingston Finau is a short but powerful, quick & skilful left centre who rarely misses a tackle! Zeph is a powerful, aggressive middle with good leg speed & energy.

Big watch on Denham Tsagalas who is a tall, agile & skilful backrower who possesses not only strength & workrate but x-factor.

NOTE - Iszak Isdale, James Kerr, Thomas Aroyan, Jerome Cosgrave, Ratu Maafi & Bryce Blatch did not play. Those 6 would easily make this squad to add even more firepower.

Who were the halves?
I wonder why some of our better players in that age group did not play?
